Newport facing FA action after object thrown during cup tie

Newport County say they are "disappointed" to be facing disciplinary action and a potential fine from the Football Association (FA) after an object was thrown on to the pitch during their FA Cup tie with Peterborough United.
The Exiles say an item was thrown on to the field of play from the terracing behind the Rodney Parade dug-out as they faced Darren Ferguson's side in south Wales on Saturday afternoon.
It comes after a public warning was issued following the club's League Two fixture with Chesterfield in October - with potential punishments now including a fine for the club, plus stadium bans and potential prosecution for individuals.
A club statement read: "The club is currently reviewing CCTV footage and details of any individual seen throwing an object will be forwarded to the Police for potential prosecution and receive an immediate stadium ban.
"The club will also consider closing the terrace immediately behind the dug-out for future games, as it has done in the past."
Newport added: "We remind supporters once again that this behaviour is completely unacceptable, dangerous, and we will maintain our zero-tolerance policy going forward."
In the wake of the club's 3-0 defeat by Chesterfield at Rodney Parade on 18 October, Newport stated "the club cannot risk a repeat of the incident".
Newport were beaten 4-2 by League One side Peterborough as they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the first round stage.
Early goals from Anthony Glennon and Kai Whitmore put Nelson Jardim's side 2-0 up after just seven minutes.
But Peterborough responded with goals from Abraham Odoh and Joel Randall in addition to a late Ricky-Jade Jones brace as they progressed to round two.
Newport return to action against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
