Northampton sign ex-Blackburn striker Vale

Northampton Town have signed former Blackburn Rovers striker Jack Vale until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old came through Blackburn's academy and scored three goals in 27 first-team appearances for the Lancashire club.

He was was released at the end of last season after he was sent out on loan to Scottish side Motherwell.

It was his second stint with Motherwell in as many seasons, with Vale also having previous loan stays with Lincoln City, Halifax, Rochdale and Barrow.

He has spent a number of weeks training with Kevin Nolan's Northampton squad before signing a contract.

"We have taken our time over this move because we wanted to make sure we got the right one in, but Jack is someone who has been on our radar a while," Nolan told the club website., external

Vale is the 16th signing Northampton have made over the summer.
