Norwich City have signed England Under-21 international Callum Doyle from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

Defender Doyle spent last season on loan at Leicester City, making 17 Championship appearances as they won promotion to the Premier League.

The deal has been under discussion for several weeks and is not thought to include an option to buy.

"We feel he's a great fit for how we want to play, and he brings with him some fantastic experience at this level for someone who's still just 20," said Canaries sporting director Ben Knapper.

"His pedigree is there for all to see and he'll be an important player for us this season."

Doyle has yet to play a senior game for Manchester City and this will be his fourth successive season out on loan, following spells at Sunderland and Coventry City from 2021 to 2023.

"I'm very excited and glad that it's finally done. I feel really grateful to be here and can't wait to get started. I think we can have a really good season," he said.

He is Norwich's third summer recruit, following the arrivals of Jose Cordoba and Ben Chrisene.

They will start the new season with a trip to promoted Oxford United on Saturday.
