Three goals were scored in nine minutes of chaotic added time and five in a remarkable period of extra time as Spain beat Germany in an astonishing Under-19 European Championship semi-final.
It was the second Germany game within six days to contain a double-figure total of goals, with the side having led England 5-1 in their group game last week before drawing 5-5.
But the semi-final in Bucharest was even more memorable and dramatic, with Real Betis' Pablo Garcia scoring four goals for Spain and Hoffenheim's Max Moerstedt a hat-trick for Germany.
Only three of the game's 11 goals were scored inside 90 minutes.
Moerstedt and Garcia exchanged goals - with Spain's Antonio Cordero having a penalty saved in between - before Said El Mala gave Germany a 2-1 lead with 12 minutes to go.
As the clock ticked into second-half added time, Garcia netted in the 91st and 95th minutes to put Spain 3-2 ahead and on the brink of the final - but then calamity struck.
Germany pumped a long free-kick up the pitch that flew over the Spain goalkeeper's head before Andres Cuenca inexplicably put it into his own empty net and make it 3-3 in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
Tomas Marques made it 4-3 to Spain in extra time but Moerstedt netted twice to put Germany 5-4 in front.
However Jan Virgili then made it 5-5 before Garcia rounded the goalkeeper to tuck in his fourth goal and give Spain a famous win.
Germany go home with a record of 12 goals scored and 15 goals conceded in four games - while Spain have scored 15 and conceded six.
The defending champions will meet hosts Romania or the Netherlands in Thursday's final.
