Germany Under-19s played out their second game with double-figure goals in the space of six days - but were knocked out of the European Championship by Spain.
The Germans led England 5-1 in their group game last week before eventually drawing 5-5.
And their semi-final in Bucharest was even more memorable - as they fell 6-5 in extra time.
Real Betis' Pablo Garcia scored four goals for Spain - including two in stoppage time and the winner two minutes from the end of extra time.
Hoffenheim's Max Moerstedt scored a hat-trick for Germany but it was not enough.
Moerstedt and Garcia exchanged goals - with Spain's Antonio Cordero having a penalty saved in between. Then Said El Mala gave Germany a 2-1 lead with 12 minutes to go.
Only three of the game's 11 goals were scored inside 90 minutes as Garcia netted twice in second-half stoppage time to put Spain on the brink of the final - but then calamity struck.
Germany pumped a long free-kick up the pitch which flew over the Spain keeper's head before Andres Cuenca inexplicably put it into his own empty net in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
Tomas Marques made it 4-3 to Spain in extra time with Moerstedt netting twice to put Germany 5-4 ahead.
But Jan Virgili levelled and then Garcia rounded the goalkeeper to tuck in his fourth goal and give Spain a famous win.
Germany go home with a record of 12 goals scored and 15 goals conceded in four games - while Spain have scored 15 and conceded six.
The defending champions will meet hosts Romania or the Netherlands in Thursday's final.
