On Man Utd: Mbeumo and Cunha are excellent signings | Amorim deserves credit for the recent turnaround
On Liverpool: Reds are missing the urgency, direct approach and goals of Luis Diaz | Players don't look happy and are struggling to adapt
On Arne Slot: Is there pressure on his job? No chance! Liverpool are not the sort of club to panic | But Slot will be under heavy scrutiny if poor run continues
On Celtic: Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna will struggle to turn down Bhoys
On Everton: Toffees' lack of a reliable striker is letting them down
On Arsenal: If set pieces win Gunners the league, fans won't care | Max Dowman is a rare talent
On Sunderland, Burnley and Leeds: Promoted teams have a real chance of survival
On West Ham: Hammers are too dependent on Jarrod Bowen, he can't pull them out of the mire every time
On Aston Villa: Unai Emery's side have a great opportunity to qualify for Champions League
On Wolves: They are a great club with Premier League pedigree, but they are in real trouble of relegation

Wrexham 1-2 Cardiff City
Image source, Getty ImagesSpeaking after his side's victory at Wrexham, Cardiff City head coach Brian Barry-Murphy said:
"It was exhausting.
"It was a tough game for us but we played in the way that we wanted to play from minute one and showed our character and skill level throughout the course of the game game.
"It's very satisfying and I'm immensely proud of the whole club."

I think we simply make both goalkeepers compete in a tense match of keepy uppies.

Wrexham 1-2 Cardiff City
Image source, Getty ImagesCardiff City beat fellow Welsh side Wrexham to book their place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
Yousef Salech tapped into the net from close range early on to give the visitors a deserved lead, hitting his sixth goal of the season in all competitions.
Cardiff should have extended their advantage in the opening half, with the likes of Omari Kellyman, Rubin Colwill and Cian Ashford all having chances to bulge the net.
They were made to pay for failing to convert those efforts as former Cardiff forward Kieffer Moore headed home the equaliser for Championship Wrexham seven minutes into the second half.
But Will Fish volleyed in his first goal for the club in the 71st minute to give League One Cardiff the Welsh derby bragging rights at the Stok Cae Ras.

Put eleven balls on the centre line. The teams stand either side, waiting. The referee blows the whistle and... Dodgeball!

Yes.
Grimsby 0-5 Brentford
Image source, Getty ImagesSpeaking after Brentford's win at Blundell Park - the Bees' fourth win in five games - manager Keith Andrews said:
"The attacking play was outstanding.
"We've had a tough cup run - here included - with Premier League opposition.
"We want to achieve things, myself included. We want to push and be demanding of each other as possible, and see how far we can go."

Instead of penalties, which you are expected to score, what about free kicks from outside the area. This is more positive as it rewards the outstanding moments we all watch to see.

There's a chance we could be hanging around for quite a while though, JW...
Grimsby 0-5 Brentford
Image source, Getty ImagesA much-changed Brentford cruised into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup for the fourth time in six seasons after ending Grimsby Town's memorable run in emphatic style.
The League Two hosts caused one of the biggest shocks in EFL Cup history when they knocked out Manchester United two months ago.
But, despite making nine changes, Brentford showed their Premier League class and turned on the style to score five.
Mathias Jensen, Keane Lewis-Potter, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Carvalho and Nathan Collins scored the goals as the Bees moved within two rounds from a first major cup final.

Rather than penalties, play golden goal but each team loses 1 or 2 players every 5 minutes until someone scores. Could get to 5-a-side on a full size pitch… someone will score!

Wycombe 1-1 Fulham (4-5 on pens)
Image source, Getty ImagesSpeaking after the match, Fulham boss Marco Silva told Sky Sports: "We know surprises happen in this competition if your approach is not serious enough.
"We were serious, but when you come off some bad results, you have to be positive and confident, but you feel something around and the first minutes of the game showed that.
"We didn't play with the intensity we should have in the first half but we did after that, and we created seven or eight clear chances. I told the players, in these types of moments, we are the first ones who have to be positive.
"We know the future is going to be better when we have players back, but we have to fight for this moment altogether."

Golden goal. First team to score after normal time wins. After 90 minutes if the scores are tied, the next goal wins. No added time in second halves. Both teams push for the winner. Fans will love it. Just like we played as kids.

Wycombe 1-1 Fulham (4-5 on pens)
Image source, Getty ImagesFulham needed penalties to avoid a shock defeat by League One Wycombe and progress to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
Defender Issa Diop scored the decisive spot-kick in sudden death to give his side a 5-4 shootout win after goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte saved three Wycombe penalties.
Josh King's smart finish shortly after half-time cancelled out an early opener from former Fulham man Cauley Woodrow, but neither side could find a winner and the match finished 1-1.
The result ends Fulham's four-game losing streak and keeps alive their bid for a first major trophy in their 146-year history.
