  5. 'The turning point was the sending off'published at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    FT: Linfield 2-0 Ballymena United

    David Jeffrey
Former Larne, Linfield & Ballymena manager on BBC Sport NI

I thought before the sending off Stephen O'Donnell was imperious, but he was also impetus, he shouldn't have got the first yellow and then he finds himself a couple of minutes later bringing down Joel Cooper and the referee has no choice but to brandish the second yellow.

Up to that Ballymena had been very good, the turning point was the sending off, but credit to Linfield they used the pitch better after the sending off.

Joe Gormley's hat-trick and Taylor Steven's strike did the damage as the visitors maintained the pressure on league leaders Linfield.

A rare home setback for the Swifts, who saw their impressive Stangmore Park record dented by title-chasing Cliftonville's ruthless display.
