This is the first competitive meeting between West Brom and Aldershot Town – the Baggies have won their last five home FA Cup games against non-league sides by an aggregate score of 26-0.
Aldershot Town have eliminated Football League sides in both the first (Swindon Town) and second (Stockport County) rounds of the FA Cup this season. However, they lost their only previous game against a Championship side in the competition 1-2 vs Middlesbrough in January 2013.
West Bromwich Albion have progressed from six of their last nine FA Cup third round ties, though two of those eliminations have come in the last three seasons.
Aldershot Town are looking to reach the FA Cup fourth round for just the second time, previously doing so in 2012-13 as a League Two side.
19-year-old Josh Stokes has been involved in half Aldershot Town’s 10 goals in the competition proper this season, scoring three and assisting two.
