Steve Bruce has won his first three League One games in charge of Blackpool

Blackpool maintained their 100% winning record under Steve Bruce in League One with an impressive victory at his old club Huddersfield.

The Tangerines took a deserved lead shortly after the half-hour mark when CJ Hamilton fizzed in a cross from the left for Kyle Joseph to head into an empty net from two yards out.

Hamilton doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time with a powerful left-footed drive under goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, who got a touch but was unable to keep it out.

Huddersfield, who were forced into an early substitution when captain Michal Helik suffered an injury, struggled to get going in a stop-start first-half.

Blackpool capitalised on a disjointed display from the hosts who were loose in possession, including for the second goal which came after Ben Wiles gave the ball away to Dom Ballard who teed up Hamilton.

The Terriers improved slightly in the second half but their only chance of note fell to Bojan Radulovic who saw his close-range header well saved by Harry Tyrer in the 82nd minute.

Michael Duff’s side have now suffered two consecutive home defeats, following the 3-1 loss to Northampton at the weekend, and missed out on the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Wrexham.

A third win a row for Blackpool lifts them up to ninth in the table and within touching distance of the play-off spots.
