Well the weather has decimated the EFL programme today, but we did get a hatful of goals in the games which did beat the freeze, at lunchtime at least.

Rotherham picked up a handy win to climb into mid-table in League One, but Trotters boss Ian Evatt might have been wishing the game had been called off as his side lost ground in the play-off race, much to the ire of the travelling Wanderers fans.

Tranmere's faithful had to endure a sixth straight away defeat in League Two, though it came with 10-men for nearly an hour against the side who are running away at the top of the table.

Whether Walsall will stay the course remains to be seen, but after a club record eighth straight win, you'd be hard pushed to say they don't deserve it this season.

The less said about Swindon's stalemate against Crewe the better, the most notable thing being the 56-minute delay due to dense fog which delayed the first half.

It might be Baltic outside but look at this, things are heating right up at the foot of the League Two table.

Though they have played more than the sides around them, Swindon have bounced up a couple of places after their stalemate in the murk against Crewe, while Tranmere's heavy defeat at Walsall means they slip into the bottom-three.

The point for Crewe might just have taken a smidge off the gloss of leaders' Walsall's thumping lunchtime win over Tranmere, though the Saddlers still have an impressive 12-point cushion, with a game in hand on their closest challengers.

When you put everything into context, to come out as they did certainly in the second half in much better conditions, Swindon started well and had the better chances but just weren't clinical enough.

Crewe are a good side that'll be up there come the end of the season and Swindon have done really well today.

It ends all square on a dramatic day at the County Ground, even if there weren't to be any goals.

A 56-minute delay ensued after the game was stopped due to thick fog just four minutes in.

But it was a lively 0-0 once a match did eventually get going again - one which Swindon will be disappointed not to take all three points having created some decent openings.

Crewe come away with what they may well view as a valuable point, all things considered.

Botan Ameen finds Gavin Kilkenny on the edge of the box as Swindon break forward down the left but his shot is well blocked.

A last roll of the dice for Swindon as Danny Butterworth replaces Aaron Drinan.

Just the two minutes added on at the end. Time is running out for either to win this now.

Aaron Drinan has a great chance to get a shot away in a promising area for Swindon after it deflects into his path, but he smashes it well over the top from inside the box.

We've almost played the full 90 at the County Ground. It could be a huge point for Swindon, who will move up to 20th from 22nd if it stays this way.

Crewe will stay second and reduce Walsall's lead at the top to 12 points but will have played a game more.

Swansea loanee Joel Cotterill is on for Swindon in place of Nnamdi Ofoborh.

Will Wright played a free kick from the left as an in-swinger, Crewe held such a high line I thought was that a risk.

It eluded everybody, but it was another quite good opportunity for Swindon.

Owen Lunt springs forward on the counter for Crewe but Billy Kirkman gets back to intervene well for Swindon.

The game is just opening up in these closing stages. About seven minutes plus stoppages for either side to break the deadlock.

Swindon's Will Wright puts in a lovely ball from a free-kick but it somehow evades everyone in the box and runs out of play...

Crewe have made their fourth change of the game. Top goalscorer Jack Lankester is replaced by Christopher Long.

Crewe's Omar Bogle sends in a ball across the face of goal but Swindon are able to shovel it away.

Will the Robins live to rue not making the most of their dominance in this game? The hosts have had 14 shots to just four for the Railwaymen.

Still it remains goalless.

Into the final 15 minutes we go. Is Swindon's winning run at home about to come to an end?

Swindon look the more likely team, we're really looking to get this goal.

But my worry is if we aren't clinical, Crewe are a very good team, we can't take our foot off the gas, we have to take our chances because we're dominating.
