    Anita Asante
Former England defender on BBC Three

Man United are a team playing with confidence and they're quietly going about their business and putting on a similar run as they did in 2023, when they finished a few points off Chelsea.

    Everton 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal have started well and have shown a good amount of promise in and around the final third, but they're yet to fashion any truly dangerous chances.

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Three

Man United have been so consistent in their performances and that starts with clean sheets.

They've been able to keep the same back four time and time again, and that's what's part of being able to keep those clean sheets.

Liverpool v Man Utd (19:15 GMT)

Manchester United are unbeaten in the league since losing to league leaders Chelsea in November.

Since that 1-0 defeat to Sonia Bompastor's side, United have won seven WSL games in a row.

They look to equal the eight wins on the bounce they managed between March and October 2023 in tonight's game against Liverpool.

    Everton 0-0 Arsenal

Honoka Hayashi forces Manuela Zinsberger to make a save after a nice move sparked by Kelly Gago.

Gago charges into the Arsenal area before slipping the ball back to Hayashi, but it's met at the near post.

Everton can cause problems for Arsenal. Toni Payne has been a handful too.

Arsenal have made some lovely moves already, getting in behind the Everton back line.

Liverpool v Man Utd (19:15 GMT)

Liverpool have won two of their last three WSL matches against The Red Devils, after a run of three straight defeats from their first three top-flight meetings.

However, they did lose their last encounter against Manchester United 4-0 in December.

Lia Walti has the first shot on target of the game - although it wasn't really mean't to be a shot.

She hooks the ball towards the middle and Alessia Russo tries to latch onto it. She doesn't and her low delivery is stopped by Courtney Brosnan.

  11. Bernabe likely to play left-backpublished at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

Liverpool v Man Utd (19:15 GMT)

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at Anfield

It was hard to tell from the warm-ups but I'm told Alejandra Bernabe, making her WSL debut, could be playing at left-back.

That would mean Liverpool captain Taylor Hinds moves across to right-back to compensate.

Amber Whiteley has stuck with her preferred back four formation despite losing centre-backs Gemma Bonner and Grace Fisk.

One of the players who has been key to Everton's recent revival is Honoka Hayashi.

The Japan international has scored four goals in her last nine WSL games, more than across her first 48 outings in the competition (three goals).

The last time an Everton midfielder scored more in a top-flight campaign was in 2020-21 when Izzy Christiansen scored six and Hayley Raso found the net on five occasions.

It has been an excellent debut season for Mariona Caldenty at Arsenal so far.

Only Manchester City’s Mary Fowler (eight) has been directly involved in more WSL goals in 2025 than Caldentey (seven – five goals, two assists).

The 28-year-old could become the first Spaniard to score in four consecutive appearances in the competition if she nets against Everton.

Millie Turner and Leah Galton both make their 100th WSL appearance for Manchester United tonight at Anfield.

It is only the second time in the competition’s history that two players have celebrated that milestone for a team in the same game after Arsenal’s Beth Mead and Katie McCabe did so in the North London derby in September 2022.

Liverpool v Manchester United is a fixture which always catches the eye and it's a rivalry that's building more and more in the women's game.

This is a stage worthy of such a fixture but Liverpool's record at Anfield doesn't fill fans with much hope.

As they walk through the Shankly Gates and past the Kop - displaying marketing banners with the players faces on - they will be reminded of recent defeats here by rivals Everton and Manchester City.

Liverpool come up against a Manchester United team in form today too. Illness to several key players today makes their task even tougher.

But there is cause for some optimism.

Interim manager Amber Whiteley has guided the Reds to two wins from two, including a stunning Women's FA Cup quarter-final win over Arsenal.

If they made it a third straight win today there would be a party in the stands at Anfield.

  18. Best of the statspublished at 18:48 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

    Everton v Arsenal (19:00 GMT)

    • Arsenal have already won two Women's Super League games in 2025 by a 4-3 scoreline (vs Man City and West Ham). No team has ever won three top-flight matches in the same calendar year when conceding 3+ goals (Liverpool and Bristol City in 2013 – both also 2).
    • Everton are unbeaten in each of their last four WSL home matches (W3 D1), only once before going longer without defeat on home turf (9 – April 2012 - May 2013); the Toffees have won three of their last four home league games, as many as across their previous 19 (D6 L10).
    • Arsenal are winless in each of their three WSL away games played on a Friday (D2 L1), most recently losing to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on March 15th last year.

    Everton v Arsenal (19:00 GMT)

    Brian SorensenImage source, Getty Images

Everton boss Brian Sorensen spoke ahead of the match against Arsenal: "Our performances since Christmas, when we brought players in to give us a competitive squad, have been good. I'm looking forwards and up [the table],"

"We have very good players in now and depth in our squad, which you need to have to be able to compete in this league. I would have loved to have had this squad available from round one because maybe the picture would be a bit different," he continued.

On taking inspiration from Liverpool's defeat of Arsenal last weekend in the FA Cup, he said: "We've seen a couple of things we can hurt them on. It's going to be extremely tough for us, it's probably the worst time to play them as they will want to bounce back."

  20. Could today be the day?published at 18:42 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

    Everton v Arsenal (19:00 GMT)

    Everton WomenImage source, Getty Images

Everton won their first Women's Super League meeting against Arsenal in July 2011 (3-1) but are winless in 21 league games against them since (D3 L18).

Since beating Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates in early March, Arsenal have looked shaky.

They narrowly escaped with a 4-3 win after conceding two goals in the first 11 minutes against London rivals West Ham and they were knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend by Liverpool.

A trip to Walton Hall Park could prove rather tricky for the Gunners.
