It is ridiculous the short space of time a manager gets nowadays. If they are on a contract the duration of it should be honoured. I know it's all about results but some of the managers don't even get any time to bring in their own signings.

    John, Glasgow

Some managers aren't given time to impose their style at a club. Some aren't allowed time to bring in players or even have a say what players come into a club. Just told that they are to use them. So clubs need to access what they want.

    Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke on dropping into the relegation zone: "We are fully concentrated. We were full prepared for such a situation that this would happen.

"There is always outside noise even after our best season in history last season. We full expected this would happen this season.

"The goal at the start of the season was to finish 17th or above. To finish 17th would be a great success because no other team in the last promoted sides has had the chance to stay in this league.

"I didn't expect it to be an easy ride."

Man City v Leeds (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke on availability for the game against Man City: "Overall, many players are training. Anton Stach will definitely miss the Man City game due to the concussion protocol. If everything works, he will be allowed to return to training Sunday.

"Sadly, Sean Longstaff will miss the game, he is out with a calf injury. He is expected to be out 4-6 weeks, so we will miss him for a while. It's of course not ideal.

"Sebastien Bornauw is a doubt, he has some MCL problems. He missed training yesterday and today, it will be a late call about his availability."

Farke should've gone after the abysmal play off final. How the board and any fans thought he could succeed this season is beyond me. Poor manager, with an horrendous premier league record.

I'm a Liverpool fan. My husband and son are Leeds fans. They've never been enamored with Farke and want him gone. I think Slot deserves more time. I am interested in how we will fare when Salah goes to Afcon as he's been off form for a while now.

    Leeds United

Daniel Farke has arrived for his news conference and has begun by delivering some tough team news.

Midfielder Sean Longstaff will be out for around four to six weeks with a calf injury he picked up in the 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa.

We'll bring you full quotes from his news conference, along with any chatter about his future, once we get it...

  8. Leeds face tough run of fixturespublished at 13:32 GMT

After a promising start to the season taking seven points from their first five games, Leeds' form has taken a big dip in recent weeks.

They've lost four of their last five league games, their only points coming in a 2-1 home win over West Ham.

If any Leeds fans were hoping for an easier run of fixtures to help turn their season around, they'd be bitterly disappointed looking at the clubs next three fixtures.

Daniel Farke's side have Man City away, Chelsea at home, followed by a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in their next three outings.

Currently sitting 18th and inside the relegation zone, three defeats in those games would put the club in a very difficult spot heading into a busy festive period of football - but is Farke the man to get this side out of trouble?

Let's just be clear why Leeds are in the mess they are. Sure, a lot of it is to do with Farke's selection and in-game management but the recruitment in the summer simply wasn't good enough. That's on the board

    Greg

Farke replacement may well get us fitter and better defensively. However quality up front and lack of goals will be our down fall. Fear as always with relegation how it will impact the club financially. Pick up some points prior to Christmas and good January transfers only hope.

    Jim

Unfortunately Daniel Farke's time is nearly up, he has no proven track record in the Premier League.

Leeds defender Gabriel Gudmundsson speaking to BBC Radio Leeds on their difficult run of form: "We are all behind everyone in the club. We are working to come through.

"We know we have a plan each game to play with, and it's football; things happen. We need to adapt to certain games depending on which team you're playing and their qualities. We have to accept sometimes that we are losing, and when we are winning, we are winning.

"When we are playing at home, we feel very good - I think everyone can see that as well. But when we are playing away, we need to step up. The performances are there, but we just need to make sure we get the points.

"It's such a good group of players. We are so close to each other and want to help each other all the time. We are not focusing on [poor results] too much. We know we have a big game ahead, and we are going to help each other.

"It's only November and nothing is going to be decided here. We are all sticking together and working hard. We know what we can do, we have a good group - and we will figure this out."

The players have downed tools, it’s as clear as day and Slot has rode the coattails of Klopp’s tactics until the wheels fell off, it’s time to go!

    Daniel, Belfast

The team are breaking records from over 70 years ago by how horrific their form is. I know he won the title last season, but I cannot see a solution right now, and I cannot see Slot solving this crisis. He has to go.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot was asked if he feels is job is under threat:

"I am feeling safe, I am OK, I have got a lot of support from above.

"It would be nice to turn it around and get a victory of course but if you are working as a coach and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.

"I am OK with my position. It is not the first time I've been in a difficult position but it is about time that we turned it around.

"In the normal conversations we have I feel the trust. But I haven't spoken to them after this game yet so let's see."

Slot deserves plenty of criticism that much is clear. But can we for once suggest that the players simply weren't good enough? Barring Szoboszlai and maybe Ekitike there wasn't anyone who looked competent last night. I don't know what the answer is but the players need to step up too.

    • Liverpool have lost nine of their last 12 games across all competitions, their most defeats over a 12-game spell since November 1953 to January 1954 (also 9).
    • Liverpool have lost three consecutive games in all competitions by a margin of three plus goals for the first time since December 1953.
    • Liverpool have lost four of their last six home games in all competitions (W2) – as many as their previous 69 beforehand.

  18. 'Every single Liverpool player needs to go back to basics'published at 12:55 GMT

    Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Stephen Warnock
    Former Liverpool defender

Every single Liverpool player at the moment needs to go back to basics, because every single player is having a tough time at the moment and needs to improve.

Morale needs lifting but it is very difficult to lift it. There are no easy games for them.

I think there's a bigger picture with everything that has gone on around the club.

There's a massive difference from last year in what is going on. However, it is a results-driven industry and at the moment Liverpool are losing games very heavily and the signs aren't that they are changing - there aren't improvements.

But, what do you put that down to? Is it down to the manager? Is it down to what has happened with Jota? I think this is a very difficult situation for the club to try to look at, because of everything that surrounds it.

  20. 'I need to do better'published at 12:45 GMT

    Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot was asked whether the growing questions surrounding his future are "fair" in his post-match news conference.

He said: "I do not think it is important if it is fair or not but it is normal. If any manager around the world loses football games, let alone as many as we have lost then it is quite normal that people have an opinion about that. Whether that is fair or not fair, that is for the people to judge.

"I try to analyse and help the players as much as I can and it is obvious that I don't do it in the way I did last season because when you talk about individual errors, I think that is also something that comes from a team effort.

"I need to do better and that is what I am trying to do every single day to improve the team and that is where my main focus is."
