Arminia Bielefeld captain Mael Corboz speaking to BBC World Service after the side's victory over Bayer Leverkusen: "I think in the 88th minute I already looked up at the clock and I was like, am I about to cry? And then I had to think about it, and I was like, alright, take it easy, there's another 10 minutes and this team is known for late goals and then after the game it was just absolute chaos.

"I think overall the feeling is just surreal. I don't think anyone could quite understand or can quite put that feeling into words right after the game.

"Every round feels like a dream. In every round you think everything went our way, it will be tough the next time around and then the next time comes and somehow we pull it off again so it's amazing. It’s a highlight for all of our careers."

While the sides go head to head in the Turkish Cup quarter-finals tonight they are also in a title battle in the Super Lig.

Galatasaray's lead at the top of the table was cut to six points at the weekend, with them also having played a game more than Fenerbahçe in second place.

Galatasaray remain in pole position to defend their title and will be determined to ensure Jose Mourinho’s men end the season without silverware by beating them in the cup this evening.

Given the current tensions between the sides, another league triumph would make their third consecutive championship celebration even louder.

The winner of The Intercontinental Derby will take on either mid-table Süper Lig side Konyaspor or İskenderunspor from the third tier of Turkish football. Barring a major upset, this would mean a clear path to the final.

Both teams, having ended their UEFA Europa League campaigns, now have two key objectives: the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup. But beyond the trophies, their biggest motivation remains beating each other.
