I do get why people get frustrated by the amount of in season internationals there are but football hasn’t closed down for the week. Go and see your local Non League club. They’ll appreciate you through the gate far more than a top flight club will!

A pinch me moment - Morgan Rogers on England call up

Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers wants a quick pinch on the arm to check his England call-up is the real deal.

The 22-year-old had been due to play for the Under-21s but was promoted to the senior squad for the first time on the back of an impressive start to the season for Villa.

Morgan has scored three goals and provided two assists in 11 games for Unai Emery's side so far.

"I'm going to enjoy the week and take it for what it is, for sure," he said.

Morgan was also asked about becoming the latest player from the West Midlands to make a name for himself at the top level and England, just like Jude Bellingham and Jack Grealish.

"It's not bad people to follow behind from Birmingham, is it?!" said Morgan.

Get Involved - would an 'International Month' work?published at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November

I don't think an International Month would work as it limits team cohesion and limits the opportunity for out of form players to make a comeback, or players that are in form after the month to get a look in. I agree 3 breaks this soon into the season is too much but likewise I'm not sure England fans should be turning their nose up at a trophy. It's also an easy chance for fans to travel to away games as Euros and World Cup tickets are difficult and expensive to get hold of.

  5. Hall 'completely different' since Chelsea debutpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November

Greece v England (Thu, 19:45 GMT)

    England

Newcastle defender Lewis Hall was given his first-team debut by Thomas Tuchel in Chelsea's FA Cup win over Chesterfield in 2022.

The 20-year-old was asked if Tuchel's appointment as England manager would be good for him: "Potentially. I think I am a completely different player now. I think his thinking was, me being a midfielder back then knowing I was comfortable on the ball and knowing we would have a lot of possession, that was the thought behind it.

“I am not sure if that means anything now, especially as I feel my game is completely different now to how it was back then. He was a good person to me, he gave me my debut and I think without that, wouldn’t have given me the confidence I got when I was younger.

“So I’m grateful to him for that but right now I have just got to focus on the manager now, which is Lee Carsley, and I am really enjoying it.”

I would be intrigued to know how many people actually asked for the Nations League? Were fans around the world crying out for additional international football? I'm not aware that they were, and the excuse that it was meant to replace "meaningless friendlies" doesn't bear much weight when the replacement is an even more meaningless competition.

More from Erin Cuthbert as she discusses Chelsea's form: "We’re on a good run. We’ve got good momentum. We’ve had the perfect start, but it’s naive to think it will keep continuing. We’re on the right path and on the right trajectory."

On when she found out she was playing Celtic: "Honestly the minute the draw was made I said to the general manager before, I feel like we’ll get Celtic. I had a feeling when the draw was made. Of course i'm excited the thought of going to Scotland seeing my family and friends is the best thing. As soon as it was announced that the game was at Celtic park I was even more excited."

  8. 'It’s kind of a full circle moment for me'published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November

Celtic v Chelsea (Wed 20:00 GMT)

    BBC Sounds

Erin Cuthbert on the Behind The Goals podcast with Rachel and Leanne, discussing her expectations of Celtic, she added: "I watched their [Celtic's] game yesterday on the bus. I saw the full game against Glasgow City. It's not ideal for them, pretty good for us from a selfish point of view. I think they have threats on the counter attacks. They have speedy, tricky players. Obviously I’ve played with Natalie Ross, Shannon Mcgregor. These are players we have be aware of. They’ve got their striker [Saoirse] Noonan, who’s really, really strong and has good aerial threat. I’m expecting a tough game.

"For me, the last time I played in the Champions League in Scotland I was playing for [Glasgow] City against Chelsea and now I’m playing for Chelsea against Celtic. It’s kind of a full circle moment for me."

Are people so Eurocentric that they aren't aware that it isn't just the nations league happening in the international window break. South America, Asia and Oceania are all having world cup qualifiers, which last time I checked is pretty important. Also Africa is having caf nations cup qualifiers. There is football outside Europe and plenty of countries are very excited by this.

  10. Who's going up or down?published at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November

All of the home nations have something on the line with two games to go, although the format of the tournament makes that almost inevitable.

Every position above third spot in League C groups guarantees either promotion, relegation, a promotion-relegation play-off or a place in the quarter-finals.

Scotland are close to relegation from League A, sitting bottom by three points before their final games against Croatia and Poland.

England have to beat Greece to have a chance of automatic promotion from League B, or else the best they can achieve is a promotion-relegation play-off with a third-placed team from League A.

Their second game is against the Republic of Ireland, who are three points above Finland and hoping to go into a relegation-promotion play-off.

Wales would win automatic promotion to League A if they beat Turkey and Iceland - but could also be drawn into a relegation-promotion play-off.

Northern Ireland are in an automatic promotion spot in League C and will go up if they win their final two games against Belarus and Luxembourg. They could be promoted with a game to spare if they beat Belarus and Bulgaria do not win.

Warren, go and put your head down and come back next weekend.

The other slightly frustrating thing about international breaks is when you're team is doing really well. You want to keep that momentum going, not stop it in its tracks.

Actually, judging by the thumbs, 'International Month' could be a goer. Let us know what you think here

    Thanks Scott.

Would having just two, or maybe even one international break work better then?

Would football benefit if say we had all of January as "International Month" with six matches, and club football for the rest of the season (August to May)?

I understand your point about the smaller nations having a benefit from the Nations League but how many Malta, Gibraltar and San Marino players are in the top cup and league competitions? Not many I would guess, if any at all! My biggest issue is we’ve had three international breaks already after the Euros in the summer and we’ve only played 11 league games. Of course, the revamped Champions League has had an impact but I speak for a lot of people when I say there is too many international games and all it does it take the shine and fun away from the World Cup and Euros when they do come around.

Scotland international and Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert on playing a Scottish team in the Champions League: "That just wasn't visible in Scotland. The fact we have these games in big stadiums, there will be so many young girls coming tomorrow night. Whether they want to play for Chelsea or Celtic, they will think that it's possible and that they can achieve their wildest dreams.

"I don't think it's a painful introduction. I think it’s an incredible achievement that a Scottish team is in the group stages. They have nothing to lose. They are going to come after us and we have to be ready.

"It's something I never had eight years ago, so it shows how far the women's game has come.

"For me being Scottish and playing against a Scottish team in the Champions League is amazing.

"It's a great moment, really excited to play at Celtic Park. It's great there is so much hype and buzz around it in Scotland."

Hungary thrashing England 4-0 wasn't great for English football, but it was brilliant for Hungarian football.

Croatia were a penalty shootout away from winning the last Nations League. That would have been their first ever major trophy.

    There are positives out there...

The Nations League might not be for everyone, but I do truly think there are some benefits.

It's a chance to win an international trophy, which beforehand only came round every two years.

It's been amazing for smaller footballing nations too. San Marino have won a game this cycle. Gibraltar, Moldova and Malta are all unbeaten.

On the atmosphere at the men's side match against RB Leipzig: "The guys put on a great performance. If you were here last week, then you're absolute dying to be here [tonight].
