Spain and France meet in the tournament for the second time having been paired together in Group B, along with Denmark and Turkey.
Spain started their campaign in nervy fashion after being pulled back by Denmark and having Rayane Belid sent off to win their opening group game 2-1. They then followed that result with back to back draws - first, conceding a 90th minute equaliser to draw 1-1 with Turkey. Spain then rounded off their Group Stage with an exhilarating 2-2 draw with France - one which saw an injury time goal by France's Valentin Atangana to deny Spain qualifying for the semi-finals as group winners.
Spain went on to face Group A winners and defending champions Italy in the semi-finals. After a tense, goalless 90 minutes, Spain's Pol Fortuny broke the deadlock on the 100th minute to give La Roja a place in the final and their chance to win a record extending ninth European Under 19 Championship.
Meanwhile, as a result of winning Group B, France were paired against Group A runners up Ukraine in the semi-finals. France's group stage hero Valentin Atangana was the man of the moment once again, scoring a 61st minute header to seal a 1-0 win for Les Bleus and their fifth finals appearance in this iteration of the competition.
