Good grief that was an embarrassment last night. Just when you think we’ve bottomed out we find a new low that we didn’t know existed. Struggling to think of a single area of the club that's functioning correctly.

    • Arsenal recorded their biggest ever victory against Chelsea across all competitions (5-0), while this was the Blues’ heaviest defeat in a London derby since losing 6-0 to Queens Park Rangers in March 1986.
    • Arsenal have won three London derbies in the Premier League this season by 5+ goals (5-0 v Crystal Palace, 6-0 v West Ham and 5-0 v Chelsea), the most such victories in a single campaign by a team in English league history.
    • Arsenal picked up their 24th victory of the Premier League campaign; their joint-most after 34 games of a top-flight season. Of the three times they’ve had as many wins at this stage, two of them have come in the last two seasons under Mikel Arteta (also 24 in 2003-04 under Arsene Wenger).
    • Chelsea have conceded 57 goals in the Premier League this season; their most in a single campaign in the competition (overtaking their 55 from the 1994-95 and 1996-97 seasons).

    Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea

The last time Chelsea were on the end of a damaging defeat - a 4-2 loss aganst Wolves, Thiago Silva's wife Bella Silva made headlines when she apologised after appearing to criticise Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino and calling for changes at the club.

She said at the time that she was a "passionate Chelsea fan" after posting "It's time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late."

On Monday night she posted on X with the three wise monkey emojis - see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil.

Let's see if an explanation or apology follows...

Alan clearly isn't fully convinced yet but has Kai Havertz's recent form been enough to win you around, Arsenal fans?

Who else stood out for you last night?

And Chelsea fans, where does that performance rank among low points this season? Or do you think it better than the result suggests?

Let us know using the details above!

One performance from Havertz doesn't change things. He is what he is - an enigma with many more things to annoy about his play than delight.

Kai Havertz is making fools of those – well me, actually – who labelled him an “Arteta vanity project” when he struggled to identify his place in the team earlier in the season.

Even in the first half here, Havertz’s languid style infuriated a small number of Arsenal fans, but not for long as by the end his name was echoing around amid the celebrations, the German even being serenaded loudly after the final whistle.

His two goals either side of the hour snuffed out the unlikeliest of prospects, a Chelsea comeback, his second goal a thrilling high finish after one of those glorious passes Martin Odegaard produces with such wonderful regularity.

The elegant Havertz is suddenly becoming something of a lucky charm for Arsenal. He has scored in 11 games this season and the Gunners have won them all.

  7. Arsenal are where we need to be - Pochettinopublished at 08:47 British Summer Time 24 April

    Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to TNT Sports about whether Cole Palmer was the reason they lost at Arsenal: "We cannot say that was the reason we lose the game but we lose a player who is a creative player who helps to link the team. We are losing players and that is made very difficult, the management. But I think today, more than that, it was difficult to be in the game.

"Where Arsenal are is where we need to be as well. We are talking too much this season and all the information we receive now is that we want to be in a different position next season."

On Chelsea's European prospects: "Now it is difficult to see the future because after this game we feel disappointed. It is difficult to talk about objectives. If we compete like Saturday, OK. But if we compete like today, I think we deserve to go into Europe? I think in this way, no."

  8. 'Really talented players can lose themselves'published at 08:42 British Summer Time 24 April

    Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea

Speaking on TNT Sports, former Chelsea and England player Joe Cole said: "Ultimately, Chelsea are eight points better off this year than they were at the same stage last season.

"If you buy all potential [it's difficult]. You can say we will buy a 21-year-old for £20m and they will be worth £80m in a few years' time. It doesn't quite work like that.

"You can have really talented player and they lose themselves."

I used to get excited about Chelsea playing. I used to celebrate the wins, lament the defeats! After 2 years of this ownership I just shrug. We are where we deserve to be. We are now just another team. Like the 70s, 80s and 90s. We are now back to the old Chelsea….it's not good! Well played Arsenal.

Chelsea's Conor Gallagher was asked to respond directly on TNT Sports about a banner shown in the crowd, held up by a young Chelsea fan, which said: "I don't want your shirt!! I want you to want to fight for ours".

Fair play to Gallagher for answering the difficult question.

He said: "We definitely are putting the effort in. I know how much it means to all the boys. It’s been said many times, it's a very young squad with not much experience in the Premier League".

"As you've seen this season we've had a lot of ups and a lot of downs as well. We're still improving and working together to get to that next level.

"Today was one of those days where we we just nowhere near it."

'Soft' Chelsea 'gave up' in Arsenal loss - Pochettino

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to BBC Match of the Day: "It's not difficult to explain. Everyone saw we didn't compete from the beginning of the game. After we concede I think the team was so soft. I'm so disappointed with the start because we're supposed to have full energy and compete better.

"We were not aggressive and we did not concentrate in situations where it is easy to find the solution. That is why we're so disappointed.

"We were talking at half-time to start in a different way. But we start really bad. In 10, 15 minutes in the second half, when we conceded the third goal we gave up. It was tough on them until the end of the game."

"We competed really well against Manchester City, it was a fantastic game. But then we did not compete three days later. Maybe we were not fresh.

"It's not fair to talk about the players we are missing. From the start of the season we have been missing so many players every single week. One team is competing for the Premier League. The other team is competing with all the circumstances we have.

"The team showed a lack of capacity to resist, that is what is the problem.

"Arsenal is a very good team. But I think we allowed them to play. We gave all the possibility to play and create chances [to them]. That is why we're so disappointed. In some parts of the game it was an even game. But we're too inconsistent."

On Cole Palmer's return date: "We don't know, we need to assess tomorrow. We will see the squad that we have. We need to deal with the situation."

As a long time Arsenal fan I'm not getting over excited yet, dropping points to Villa has really taken the title race out of our own hands. Yes we could easily win all our remaining games and people talk about it being Arsenal's time but let's not forget City hold all the cards in this race.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to TNT Sports: "Very happy with the win, with the amount of chances and goals we scored. And with the clean sheet as well it shows the consistency.

"We weren't disciplined enough with some stuff we did in the first half and we needed to be more disciplined and we did that in the second half."

On Martin Odegaard: "We agreed that he was a player with huge talent and he could grow with us. We were convinced he could add something special to the team.

"That's always a question: How are you going to handle a different role [as captain]? He has done it so naturally and he is loved by everyone. With the love that he has, it is enough for everyone to wan to follow him."

Arsenal looked aggressive and sharp from start - Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to BBC Match of the Day: "I'm really happy with the performance, collectively and individually. To stand up in a big match against a big opponent and to get a result with the performance that we had today, makes me really pleased.

"From the beginning we looked really sharp, really active, sharp, aggressive off the ball.

"I have analysed every game from them [Chelsea] and they have been outstanding. They have played some big teams and were better than them, they've deserved better results. I think they are a great team. They are extremely well-coached with good individuals. Credit to our players, they've done really well today.

"The energy, the belief in the team, every time we had the opportunity to go forward we did."

On Kai Havertz: "His overall contribution in every phase of play was tremendous. When you add the two goals he scored and some of the link-up play that he had in big moments, [it was] a great performance.

"Individually we had some great performances. We have to do our job. Now we have to wait and see [for Liverpool and Manchester City's results]."
