Liverpool claimed successive home wins in the Women's Super League for the first time this season with victory over West Ham.
Leanne Kiernan poked home the 33rd-minute winner as the Reds moved nine points clear of the relegation zone.
It was the second time in five days Matt Beard's side have beaten the Hammers, having enjoyed a 5-0 thrashing in the Women's FA Cup fourth round on Wednesday.
It was West Ham who came closest to a goal during a cagey opening 25 minutes at the St Helens Stadium, with an acrobatic effort from Viviane Asseyi bouncing over the bar and Shekiera Martinez also drawing a save from Teagan Micah.
However, it was Liverpool who broke the deadlock when Ceri Holland burst down the left wing and threaded a curling delivery into the path of Kiernan, who turned the ball home from close range.
The best chance of a feisty second half fell to Liverpool captain Taylor Hinds, who saw her left-footed volley graze the crossbar.
The result left Liverpool seventh, while 10th-placed West Ham remain just six points above bottom club Crystal Palace after an eighth loss in their 13 league games this season.
Liverpool edge low-scoring encounter
Both this season and historically, it's been hard to separate Liverpool and West Ham.
They sat just one point apart in seventh and eighth in the WSL table heading into this fixture and three of their past four league meetings had ended in draws.
So after Wednesday night's surprise FA Cup goal-fest, during which Liverpool capitalised on Amber Tysiak's first-half red card to cruise to victory, normal service resumed at the St Helens Stadium with the two sides battling out a characteristically low-scoring encounter.
Neither side stamped their authority on proceedings.
Liverpool lacked the clinical streak they displayed in front of goal in Dagenham earlier in the week and endured a nervy final 10 minutes as they fought to protect their slender advantage against a wave of West Ham corners.
Kiernan's goal, however, proved enough to secure the three points and perhaps most pleasingly for manager Beard, his side were solid defensively, preventing West Ham from registering a single shot on target to earn back-to-back clean sheets in all competitions for the first time since May 2024.
The result will bring relief to the Liverpool camp by pushing them clear of relegation danger. West Ham, however, remain well and truly in trouble, with tough games against Arsenal (2 March) and Manchester City (16 March) among their next three fixtures.
