Germany striker Alexandra Popp played the final game of her international career in a 2-1 friendly loss to Australia.
The 33-year-old announced in September that she was retiring from international football, after making her Germany debut in 2010.
Popp won her 145th cap in Duisburg - three days after not being involved in Germany's entertaining 4-3 win over England at Wembley.
Wolfsburg's Popp, who has 67 international goals, was withdrawn in tears in the 15th-minute in a pre-planned substitution in front of 26,263 fans inside the MSV-Arena.
Popp, who won Olympic gold with Germany in 2016, played in four Women's World Cups, captaining the side in France in 2019 and again in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
She also led Germany to the final of the European Championship in 2022, when they lost in extra time against Sarina Wiegman's England.
Popp is under contract with Wolfsburg, who she has played for since 2012, until June next year.
