  12. Donley added to NI squad but Toal ruled outpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March

    Northern Ireland v Switzerland (Friday, 19:45 GMT)

    Jamie Donley's expected addition to the Northern Ireland squad for the friendlies against Switzerland and Sweden has been confirmed.

    However, defender Eoin Toal will miss the games because of injury and has been replaced by Kofi Balmer while striker Dion Charles withdrew later on Tuesday with a a hamstring injury.

    Twenty-year-old Tottenham forward Donley, who is impressing during a loan stint at League One Leyton Orient, previously played for Northern Ireland at youth level before switching allegiance to England.

    However, the Antrim-born player has now been handed a first Northern Ireland senior call-up for Friday's home game against the Swiss and Tuesday's match in Sweden.

    Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill said he was "pleased to welcome Jamie into the squad".

    Cliftonville's league struggles continued as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Ballymena United on Saturday.

    Ballymena broke the deadlock with 11 minutes left as Ben Kennedy intercepted a Micheal Glynn pass and fed Kian Corbally, who advanced a few steps before firing a left-footed shot beyond Lewis Ridd.

    The Reds, who sit in ninth place, have not won away in the Premiership since November.

    Larne and Coleraine go into their respective matches tonight on the back of a 1-1 draw between the sides on Saturday evening at Inver Park.

    Both goals came in the second half with Coleraine striker Matthew Shevlin coolly rounding Rohan Ferguson and slotting home a 76th-minute opener.

    The Bannsiders' celebrations were cut short just six minutes later when Aaron Donnelly cleverly redirected Mark Randall's free-kick to the back post, where Andy Ryan pounced, prodding home the equaliser from close range.

    The Glens are back in action three days after a goalless draw with Carrick Rangers at Taylors Avenue.

    David Fisher should have given the Glens a first-half lead after capitalising on some poor distribution by Jack McIntyre in the Carrick goal to race through, but he hit the post when scoring seemed easier.

    The second half was a scrappy affair with the best chances coming in the 78th minute for Carrick - Glens captain Marcus Kane cleared off the line from Ethan Boyle's header before Nedas Maciulaitis swivelled and shot from close range, forcing a tremendous reaction save from Daniel Gyollai.

    Two teams battling it out for that all important place in the top six come this weekend's split meet in a rearranged game at the Showgrounds.

    A home win would see the Bannsiders leapfrog Crusaders and Portadown into fifth place while victory for the visitors would see them move level on points with tonight's hosts.

    Bannsiders boss Dean Shiels makes two changes to the team which started Saturday evening's 1-1 draw at Larne as Declan McManus and Connor Murray drop to the bench to be replaced by Matthew Shevlin, who scored in that game, and Corey Smith.

    Cliftonville manager Jim Magilton, meanwhile, makes three changes to the team which slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Ballymena United at the weekend.

    Rory Hale and Harry Wilson are named among the replacements while Shea Kearney misses out completely.

    The men coming in are Joe Gormley, who wears the captain's armband, Conor Pepper and Sean Stewart.

    It's a game between Glentoran and Larne but the big winners from the Oval encounter could be leaders Linfield.

    The Glens are the only team who can catch the Blues but if they fail to beat Larne tonight the Windsor Park men will be confirmed as Premiership champions with six matches to spare.

    It seems only a matter of time before David Healy's team secure the Gibson Cup but their old rivals would be delighted to make them wait that little bit longer.
