In case you missed it tonight's venue is the 17,000 capacity Allmend Stadion Luzern, which is the home ground of Swiss top flight side FC Luzern.

Nicknamed "the lights" they won their only championship in 1989 as well as winning the Swiss Cup three times, in 1960, 1992 and most recently in 2021.

As I mentioned earlier, the enormous Mount Pilatus, which is home to the steepest cogwheel railway in the world, stands tall behind one side of the ground.

Poland are looking to avoid becoming the third consecutive UEFA Women’s Euro debutants to lose their first two games, after Scotland in the 2017 edition and Northern Ireland in 2022

Well Gilly, the last time these two countries met in 2021 Sweden hit four goals past Poland in Lodz.

Doubles for Poland's Ewa Pajor and Sweden's Stina Blackstenius had the sides locked at 2-2, before further goals from Caroline Seger and Lina Hurtig saw the visitors claim victory in the friendly fixture.

While Poland come into tonight's match as underdogs, they actually have history of beating Sweden in Euros matches based in Switzerland...

12 years ago in the U17 Youth European Championships final in Nyon Ewelina Kamczyk's 15th minute strike saw Poland beat Sweden 1-0 , externalto win the title.

Nine of the players that played that day are part of the two squads this evening, including matchwinner Kamczyk who is on the Poland bench.

Poland defender Sylwia Matysik says the side have to be "extremely focused" if they are to compete with the top teams at Euro 2025.

Germany needed a wonder strike from Jule Brand to finally beat the Poland back line on Friday night, and Matysik has called for the players to give "100 percent" once more against Sweden.

"We always want to give 100 percent of ourselves on the pitch, fight until the end with full determination and commitment," said Matysik.

"At this tournament are the best teams in Europe, taking advantage of every mistake, even the smallest ones. In the match against Sweden, we have to be extremely focused from the first to the last minute."

Sweden boss Peter Gerhardsson told the media that his side must "take care of" Poland forward Ewa Pajor when they meet in Lucerne.

Pajor bagged 43 goals in 46 games for Barcelona last term as they won a domestic treble and got to the Champions League final, and proved a handful for Germany in their tournament opener.

"Poland played very well against Germany, they had some good chances," said Gerhardsson. "Especially with Ewa Pajor, one of the world’s greatest players, we have to take care of her."

He added, "We need to be good in transitions, defending deep. It’s going to be a difficult game and we need to play well."

According to Uefa more than two million people tuned in to watch Poland, external in their opening match against Germany on Friday, setting a new national viewership record for a women's national team match in the country.

When asked about the viewing figures head coach Nina Patalon said: "If someone had told me a few years ago that a Polish women's game would be watched by two million viewers, I wouldn't have believed it.

"I hope that by performing at such events our sport can be the most popular female sport in Poland."

After Germany battled from behind to beat Denmark in the earlier game in Group C, here's how the table stands.

So if Poland want to keep their tournament going only a win will do in Lucerne.

If Sweden win, we'll go to a final day shootout between them and Germany for top spot.

Jim: This looks a tough group. Poland have really impressed in defeat against the Germans. Wouldn't like to call who will qualify behind them.

Sweden boast plenty of major tournament pedigree, having won silver medals at their last two Olympic Games (2016 and 2020) and finishing third at the last two World Cups (2019 and 2023).

They have flipped between reaching the semi-final and quarter-final at the last five Euros, including reaching the last four in 2022.

They've also got the likes of Champions League final goalscorer Stina Blackstenius, Chelsea treble winner Johanna Rytting Kaneryd and legendary forward Kosovare Asllani in their ranks.

It's safe to say that they are heavy favourites to win tonight in Lucerne.

Major tournament debutants Poland faced eight-time winners Germany in their opening game of Group C, falling to a 2-0 defeat in St Gallen.

And things don’t get any easier in game two, as they come up against 2022 semi-finalists Sweden in Lucerne.

However Nina Patalon's side will take heart from their display on match day one, particularly the threat that they offered on the counter attack, spearheaded by Barcelona goal machine Ewa Pajor.

Can they upset the odds in Lucerne this evening?

Another match and another landmark moment for Sweden skipper Kosovare Asllani.

After making her 200th Sweden appearance in the win over Denmark on Friday, the forward is set to move into joint second in the Women's Euros all-time top appearance makers list when she starts against Poland tonight.

She will also equal Norway's Solveig Gulbrandsen (20) for most consecutive appearances for a nation in the tournament.

Poland manager Nina Patalon makes three changes to the starting XI which began the 2-0 defeat to Germany in their first ever European Championshp match.

Centre back Oliwia Wos, central midfielder Dominika Grabowska and winger Nadia Krezyman all come into the team tonight.

Paulina Dudek, Ewelina Kamczyk and Natalia Padilla drop to the bench.
