They need him in the middle of the park, but playing him in the middle of the park does weaken the right-back area.

The players applauded the fans before starting their different bits of preparation.
The Arsenal team were jeered as they came out but the travelling supporters started chanting as soon as they ran onto the pitch.

When I had my experience back in the Bernabeu back in 06 when Thierry Henry did his thing, it was a bit of a blur to me but these guys will remember this for their lifetimes.
3-0 up, the pressure is reversed for me now looking at this Arsenal are clear favourites, but last night Aston Villa nearly did it.
I thought going into this tie Arsenal needed a three goal lead, I didn't think they'd get it, but I do think Real Madrid will score and win tonight but I do think Arsenal will go through.

David Raya's performance will be vital on the night, but the influence of first-leg hero Declan Rice will be key. Having him at his best is like having an extra player on the field.
There is a proud but short list of players who could be named the best midfielder, the best attacker and the best defender on the field all in the same game.
These players include the likes of Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard - who are loosely termed box-to-box players but were also the total heart and soul of their sides.
With those two brilliant free-kicks against Real Madrid and the wonderful assist against Brentford, he has caught everyone's eye. But the other side of him that doesn't show up on the highlights reels, or indeed on most of the stats charts, has been outstanding.

Boneheads Revisited: Real Madrid were lucky not to lose by five or six in the first leg. They don't play as a team, don't track back, run less than the opposition, and their defence is plagued by injury. Nobody is entitled to win just because of their badge. Rather than a miraculous turnaround, they're just as likely to get hammered again, this time at home. We're all here for it!

On if PSG can beat Arsenal in a potential semi-final clash...
We will see because of the balance that Inter Milan have, for example, I think Arsenal have something similar where they are so good without the ball. They are so good defensively.
I know they've conceded goals lately but they're still so strong. This is more than a team that attack you and play the similar style that PSG play, this is where they could be undone.
For Arsenal fans that still remember that game back in October when Arsenal were so much better than Paris, you have to forget that because this PSG is so much better than the one back then.

What I find interesting and peculiar is the mentality from the Real Madrid players. Jude Bellingham's interview and Real Madrid's social media team putting their neck out there.
Something about them is in the air whether it's confidence or arrogance, but I think 3-0 might be too much for them.

Real Madrid are quite an incredible team, incredible players but Mikel Arteta's done an incredible job. I think we can do it. I think we'll walk out here thinking about going to Paris.
"The Champions League is something that's always eluded Arsenal. Unfortunately, we were there in 2006 [when Arsenal lost to Barcelona in the final]. It's about getting that monkey off our back, being up there in history.
"If anyone could do it, it would be Real Madrid, for sure, that's why we have to be incredibly focused when we're there."

The reigning European champions are aiming to overturn a 3-0 deficit from last week's first leg in which they were well beaten at Emirates Stadium.
But Bellingham is confident his side can turn the tie around at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and add another chapter to the club's illustrious European history.
"I've heard it a million times since last week, I've seen a million videos - it's really motivating stuff," the England international said. "It's a night that's made for Real Madrid.
"A night that would go down in history but also something that people are familiar with around this part of this world. Hopefully we can add another special night."

Arsenal remain unbeaten against Real Madrid in European competition (W2 D1), and haven’t conceded a single goal across their three meetings. The Gunners could become the first side ever to keep four consecutive clean sheets against Los Blancos in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid’s defeat at the Emirates Stadium was the fifth time they have lost the first leg of a knockout stage tie in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League by 3+ goals, while they’ve been eliminated in the second leg in three of the previous four occasions (the exception being against Derby County in the last 16 in 1975-76, winning 6-5 on aggregate after a 1-4 defeat in the first leg).
Across the 53 games that Real Madrid have played against English sides in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League, they’ve managed to win by more than three goals on just two previous occasions: 5-1 v Derby County in 1975-76 (last 16) and 4-0 v Tottenham Hotspur in 2010-11 (quarter-final).
Since the start of the 2015-16 season, this will be the 16th time that Real Madrid have played the second leg of a UEFA Champions League knockout stage tie at home. Of the previous 15, they’ve only been eliminated on one occasion (v Ajax in the last 16 in 2018-19), and progressed from the last eight in a row.
Arsenal could equal their longest winning run away from home in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League (4 – won their last three). Indeed, the only previous time they won four in a row, the fourth game of that run was a victory against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu (1-0 in February 2006, last 16 first leg).
Arsenal have scored an average of 2.55 goals and conceded 0.55 per game in the UEFA Champions League this season (28 scored, six conceded overall), with both of these being their second-best averages in a single European Cup/Champions League campaign, after the 2.63 scored in 2010-11 and 0.31 conceded in 2005-06.
Despite averaging more possession (53.4%), Arsenal made 115 high-intensity pressures in the final third in the first leg of this tie. This was more than three times as many as Real Madrid, whose total of 36 was the lowest of any side across this season’s quarter-final first legs.
Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé has been directly involved in eight goals in eight knockout stage games against English sides in the UEFA Champions League (seven goals, one assist), including five in four home outings (four goals, one assist).
Currently on 28 goals and 21 assists, Vinícius Júnior could become the fourth different Real Madrid player to reach 50 goal involvements in the UEFA Champions League (after Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Raúl), which would be at least twice as many as any other team (Lewandowski and Müller for Bayern).
In the first leg of this tie, Myles Lewis-Skelly became just the third English teenager to assist a goal in a UEFA Champions League knockout stage match. All three of those have done so while playing for Arsenal: Theo Walcott in 2008 (v Milan and Liverpool), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2012 (v Milan) and Myles Lewis-Skelly in 2025 (v Real Madrid).
