Moise Kean has now scored 15 goals in Serie A this term

Inter Milan missed the chance to move top of Serie A as they fell to defeat at an inspired Fiorentina in a match that was rescheduled after home midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch on 1 December.

The on-loan Roma player, 22, who was admitted to hospital and has since had a defibrillator fitted, watched on from the sidelines as the contest restarted in the 17th minute, the time the original match was suspended.

Luca Ranieri opened the scoring for Raffaele Palladino's depleted side, who like Inter, were unable to field any new signings given they would have been unavailable when the contest first began.

The Fiorentina captain steered in a low effort from a corner before former Everton and Juventus forward Moise Kean doubled their advantage with a header from Dodo's cross.

Kean rounded off a deserved victory for the hosts late on when Federico Dimarco's errant back pass left Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer stranded.

Reigning champions Inter had been hoping to climb above league leaders Napoli on goal difference.

However, aside from a Carlos Augusto effort, that was correctly ruled out for offside during the first period following a video assistant referee review, they rarely looked like breaking down a resolute home defence.

The teams face each other again in the reverse fixture at the San Siro on Monday, 10 February (19:45 GMT).
