UEFA Europa League
All competitions
This will be Raków Czestochowa’s first ever meeting with a Portuguese club in any UEFA competition.
Although Sporting CP have won two of their four previous meetings with Polish clubs in major UEFA competition, they have failed to win both such matches away from home (D1 L1).
Raków Czestochowa have lost both of their UEFA Europa League games so far. As well as being one of four sides yet to score in this season’s competition, they’ve also had the fewest shots (10) and have the highest xG against (5.6) of any side.
Following a 2-1 win over Sturm Graz on MD1, Sporting CP are looking to win consecutive away games in major European competition for the first time since their first two on the road in the 2009-10 UEFA Europa League.
Viktor Gyökeres has scored in both of Sporting CP’s games in the UEFA Europa League this season; he could be the first player since Liedson in November 2003 to score in each of his first three major European games for the club, and the first to do three in a row overall for the side since Bruno Fernandes in October 2019.
