It's been a little better on the ball from Arsenal now. They have done well to ride that first wave of attacks from Chelsea.

Arsenal getting into this game slowly but looking dangerous when doing so, this may well show promise as they start to settle.

Only a short stoppage for Beth Mead. She's back to her feet and play continues.

Beth Mead goes down, the referee doesn't immediately stop play but Katie McCabe knocks the ball out and she's now receiving some treatment.

She looked to take a knock in a challenge with Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.

Arsenal fans are chanting "who are ya?" to the Chelsea substitutes warming up in the corner near the Shed End.

On the pitch, Niamh Charles can't hear the instructions from Chelsea's bench and keeps shouting over saying "what?!"

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

What a ball that is for Beth Mead, even though the flag is up. It's a brilliant whipped ball towards the far post from Kyra Cooney-Cross.

  8. 'Conditions not nice at all'published at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

The conditions are not nice at all at Stamford Bridge.

It's windy, it's cold and it's raining - meaning the ball is going to zip.

Better from Arsenal. Kyra Cooney-Cross whips a lovely cross towards Beth Mead.

Her delivery has pace on it and Mead can't properly control as Lucy Bronze also seems to get a tough to it - and then the offside flag is raised, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Sonia Bompastor likes what she sees. She claps her hands enthusiastically as Erin Cuthbert closes down a clearance from Emily Fox. Renee Slegers is very calm still though.

    Another good move.

Niamh Charles darts up the left and knocks the ball to Sandy Baltimore in the box.

She sends a high cross towards the back post but it's headed clear.

It is one way traffic at the moment, Chelsea are absolutely relentless and Arsenal have been sloppy.

They haven't really got into gear yet.

Look at the difference in how quickly Chelsea break forward.

It was a sloppy clearance from Leah Williamson. You need to be putting more into it if you ask me, especially when you have a player like Erin Cuthbert waiting.

Williamson is a little all over the place at the moment.

If Chelsea think they'll win easily like they did last time, they're sadly mistaken. Arsenal will give them a big challenge today.

    Martin

This game is more important for Arsenal than for Chelsea. The gap is too big. Chelsea will win the league as no other team other than possibly Arsenal can beat them. This is an opportunity for Arsenal to put a marker for a possible cup final.

Ooooh. Johanna Rytting Kaneryd is found on the right-hand side by a lovely ball from Mayra Ramirez, but her cross towards Sandy Baltimore is hooked clear.

Leah Williamson then knocks it forward but it's a sloppy clearance and it falls to Erin Cuthbert, who fires an effort just wide of the far post.

  17. 'Arsenal causing their own problems'published at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Gilly Flaherty

Arsenal are causing their own problems here. I don't think the referee helps Arsenal either with her positioning.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd only had one thing in her mind there - to get the strike on goal.

It's very cagey and very tense on the ball in the early stages here.

A really nervy start for Arsenal so far. Chelsea's high press is having a lot of joy around the visitors' box.

Chelsea are putting Arsenal under a lot of pressure from the first minute.

Sandy Baltimore steals the ball off an Arsenal defender, then Erin Cuthbert intercepts as she presses another Arsenal player after the visitors win the wall back.

The ball comes to Johanna Rytting Kaneryd but she fires over.

You could say Chelsea have already won once today with the signing of Naomi Girma and they did it while boasting to their rivals.

Arsenal fans had to watch on before kick-off as Girma waved to Chelsea fans and they roared in delight at her arrival.

It has given the Blues a boost because they have started this match with real intensity.
