This Spain side were persistent. They kept probing. They didn't give up when chances weren't going their way in the first half. Any time you stay in possession like they do in the final third, it's impossible not to score.

I think the amount of chances that they created, the possession, the intricate play and the comradery and connectivity this team has is something special. I think they will break many teams down.

Switzerland did themselves proud tonight. They held on for a long time and it took a special back flick and a nice goal to beat this Swiss side.

Walti deserves this journey, she deserves the way she has performed. She's worn the captain's armband with so much pride and belief and taken her team on this fabulous journey, this young team. There's so much talent in this side, they've been so exciting to watch. The ceiling is there.

The challenge now is can they compete in the Nations League with the European elite and continue to grow as a nation.

The tournament has been fantastic, so far. The stadiums, the crowd, they're always full.

Switzerland have done everyone proud. They're on their own journey to create a legacy.

For those young players, it is an experience they can build on and get better.

We knew it would be nothing short of a miracle for Switzerland to get a result tonight, but they can take heart and credit for their performance.

This is a young team, they will bounce back and qualify for many competitions to come.

They held Spain for about 60 odd minutes until they scored. That's incredible, they made it difficult, this is a world class outfit but they were frustrated by Switzerland.

Switzerland can be proud of holding Spain off for so long and for their performance at this entire tournament.

They look crestfallen as Spain celebrate.

But the world champions are one step closer to the Euro 2025 final.

There aren't too many complaints from the Swiss players. It's a one-v-one against Paralluelo who's just got the sheer pace and power.

Maritz is the last player and it's the right decision.

I can't believe it. Another missed penalty and this time from probably the best penalty taker in the tournament bar Guro Reiten and Lucy Bronze.

Terrible penalty, she just catches it too straight. It doesn't even go in the corner and Peng just reads it.

Switzerland go up the other end almost manage to pull one back but to no avail.

That penalty miss turns out to be Alexia Putellas' last action in the match and she looks fuming. She's replaced by Lucia Garcia.
