Wycombe continued their winning start under new manager Michael Duff with a deserved Carabao Cup triumph at fellow League One side Wigan.

Former Huddersfield boss Duff took charge of Wanderers last week and saw his side win for a second time, at a largely empty Brick Community Stadium.

After an early six-minute stoppage when an assistant referee went down with an injury, Ollie Cooper went close for Wigan with a powerful shot.

But Wycombe dominated possession throughout and went ahead just after the half hour when Caolan Boyd-Munce scored his first for the club with a lovely left-footed curler from the edge of the area.

Will Aimson had a great chance to level for Wigan but slid in and scooped over from close range as the hosts failed to have a shot on target all night.

And, after the break, on-loan Nottingham Forest forward Donnell McNeilly headed in to send Wanderers into the fourth round.

His header means Duff's new side have already had 14 different goalscorers this season.
