Scotland Under-21s lost the opening game of their 2027 European Championship qualifying campaign in the Czech Republic.

Slavia Prague's Ondrej Kricfalusi headed home the opener for the hosts after finding space from a free-kick on 22 minutes.

After the break, the Czechs were awarded a penalty when Mikulas Konecny went to ground under minimal contact from Blackburn's Kristi Montgomery.

Kricfalusi's spot-kick was saved by Dundee United goalkeeper Ruairidh Adams, but the officials ordered a retake with Adams deemed to have come off his line early.

Matyas Vojta took the second penalty, which was again saved by Adams.

To the dismay of Scotland's players and staff alike though, Adams was again ruled to be off his line.

Yannick Eduardo stepped up for the third spot-kick and found the bottom corner to double the Czechs' lead and secure all three points.
