Another dramatic 'Big Two' derby with Glentoran coming out on top over their great rivals for a second time this season.

Marcus Kane was superb before and after giving his side the lead on the stroke of half-time but the whole of Declan Devine's side had to dig deep after James Douglas was shown a second yellow with half an hour to go.

A great start to a big weekend of Irish Premiership action - can the chasing pack take advantage?

Glentoran certainly deserved the win, no doubt about it.

They were really up for it, they were organised, their body language, they looked like they wanted to assert themselves.

Going down to 10 was a challenge but they answered the challenge.

From a Linfield perspective, there's no panic stations, they are eight points clear, but their big players probably didn't come to the fore tonight.

That was a chance [for Archer], a big chance.

He's done nearly everything right, got a good connection.

He just maybe needed to get his knee over the ball more, his head over the ball more.

Josh Archer has his head in his hands as he fires over the crossbar from inside the box.

Archer was perfectly placed right in the middle of the area, but blasts his effort well over the frame of the goal. much to the amusement of the Glentoran fans.

It's all Linfield but they haven't come any closer to finding that goal they so desire yet.

Joel Cooper is bundled to the ground by Marcus Kane inside the box and the Linfield winger feels he should have a certain penalty.

With a four in front of you, you can plug holes but with three in front of you, I think you have to go forward and play in that midfield.

Linfield's tails are up now after Douglas' sending off and they are well on top.

Matthew Fitzpatrick finds Dane McCullough on the left with the full-back letting fly with a fierce strike, but the onrushing Daniel Gyollai makes himself big and saves well to deny McCullough an equaliser.
