Manchester City 3-4 Celtic
Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips started against Celtic in their pre-season friendly, however, it was not the performance he would have wanted to have.
The England international has struggled to get minutes in Pep Guardiola's side since signing in 2022 and was sent out on loan to West Ham in the second half of last season.
In the friendly against the Scottish champions, Phillips did not make his mark and was replaced at half-time.

Manchester City 3-4 Celtic
Manchester City midfielder Oscar Bobb shone in defeat as he scored and made two assists in the friendly match.
The 21-year-old Norwegian, who made his Premier League debut in 2023 against Fulham, said: “It’s been great. I’m gaining a lot of experience every day in training and the chances I get I’m very happy for so it’s been great.”
And he added on how he can continue to improve: “I want to play the best I can, not lose the ball as many times as I did today and hopefully score more. My goal and two assists were decent today but overall I was a bit rusty.”
Manchester City 3-4 Celtic
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he is not sure about goalkeeper Ederson's future with the club.
The player has been linked with Al Ittihad. If Ederson did leave City he would depart after seven seasons and 17 trophies.
On the Brazilian international, Guardiola said: "I don't know. He has to see maybe other options. Of course I would like him to stay but it depends now on the clubs. I don’t know the situation because there’s no contacts in the last days."
Manchester City 3-4 Celtic
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who used 14 academy graduates in his matchday squad, said there were positives to take from the defeat.
“I saw many good things from the new and old players," Guardiola said. “It wasn’t easy, we have senior players up front and back four eight or nine who are so young. It’s difficult in one department when so many are young but many good things, Oscar [Bobb] and Rico [Lewis] always in a high level.
“Many things I saw were nice. We created chances, but they are so good with the pace and quality they have. You have to live these situations in pre-season and we’ll do it from here.”
Manchester City 3-4 Celtic
Premier League champions Manchester City lost 4-3 to Scottish Premiership champion Celtic in North Carolina as part of their pre-season tour of the US.
Nicolas Kuhn scored first but Oscar Bobb levelled the score. However, just three minutes later Kuhn returned Celtic's lead and Kyogo Furuhashi added another before half-time to see Celtic 3-1 up at the break.
The second half saw City level again after goals from Maximo Perrone and Erling Haaland but Luis Palma found the back of the net in the 68th minute to confirm Celtic's win.
