232 days since it all began with Chelsea beating Aston Villa, the 2024-25 Women's Super League is over and once again Chelsea are victorious.

Sonia Bompastor's side have done it in style.

Their first season managed by the Frenchwoman, their sixth successive title, the first team to go unbeaten in a 22-game campaign and the first team to achieve 60 points.

That's all from us, but you can find all of our Women's Super League content here.

That's it for the league, but the season isn't over yet. Chelsea take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final next weekend. Arsenal have reached the Champions League final and play Barcelona in Lisbon on 24 May.

    Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert speaking to BBC Sport on the possibility of sealing a Treble next week: "That's mental. Again that level of dominance doesn't happen in football. Manchester United are a tough team, they put us out last year, they have been successful so we will have to be on it on the day.

"We are never too successful to lose, just because we went unbeaten here [in the WSL]. The FA Cup and a final is a totally different game. We are going to have to be on it."

On if the players will be celebrating the title tonight: "I think we will celebrate, we have a lot of friends and family here, but it will be timid, in hope that we are successful in the FA Cup. Then we can party."

Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert speaking to BBC Sport on if lifting the WSL will ever get boring: "No. And I don't think it ever will! Everybody sees the trophy lift and they see six titles but it's not come without a lot of hard work this season, a lot of adversity.

"We were well beaten by Barcelona [in the Champions League], same as last year we got beaten by Liverpool off the back of a Barcelona defeat, so we were determined to turn it around and make our season a positive one. And we've still got one left."

On going a whole league season unbeaten: "It's mad. It just doesn't happen in football. To write part of history like that is special but for me I just wanted to win the title because I know how hard it is to win. A lot of players we have in the dressing room are new and we were thinking, "It's hard work," and they come in and win and do an invincible season.

"We've set our stall out now. Sonia has set the standard and so have we. We've just got to keep on pushing now."

On how Bompastor has changed things behind the scenes: "A lot to be honest. The structure and foundations were in place under Emma [Hayes] but there's been a lot of new staff members, a lot of new players and a lot of new processes. We do things quite differently.

"For a lot of the long serving players change can be quite daunting but as long as you are receptive to it, which we have been, it's been quite smooth transition."

  4. 'The FA Cup final is a different game'published at 15:54 British Summer Time

    FT: Arsenal 4-3 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Man Utd boss Marc Skinner, speaking to BBC: "To come here and score three goals, we probably should have taken more out the game. The goals we conceded are pretty poor. They've run into the space that we've pressed and left half a year. There's a block of 11 minutes where we concede those goals. It's about the team managing expectations. I think we'll learn a lot from the game going into next week.

"If you bank up against Arsenal at the Emirates, you'll end up being a back six. We stayed aggressive and got back into the game. It shows a lot about the character not just for now but for the future.

"The WSL is done now. The FA Cup final is a different game, we've been in it three times now. We had to chase the game, we had to win it if we were going to finish second. We'll have a plan against Chelsea. I just think it'll be a completely different game.

"We're six-years-old, we're back in the European qualifying places. I'm really proud of these players. We need to look at the depth in order to be a success, that's no disrespect to our players but it's what all the top teams have. The spirit we have is probably the best in the league. That, coupled with right amount of experienced players coming in, would be the secret to our success."

  5. 'We want to achieve great things'published at 15:53 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor, speaking to BBC Sport:

On where Chelsea rank in the teams she's played for and managed:"I think we are in a good position, I think we going in a right direction. This club is supporting the women's team and I think this is great to be part of this project. Looking at next season, we still have room for improvement in different areas - infrastructure, squad, staff. Thinking about the future, I still think we can be even better."

On what winning the FA Cup would mean to her: "The opportunity to play at Wembley si a huge opportunity for us to have a good game and hopefully enjoy another trophy. It won't be easy, we know that. I'll probably tell my players like the last 90 minutes, maybe more we have to give our all. We want to achieve great things and we have the opportunity to achieve a Treble which in your career never happens a lot so we'll go for that with our mentality again and make sure we'll be in a really good position next week."

  6. 'A big achievement'published at 15:51 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor speaking to BBC Sport, on how she would have felt if told before the season that she would win the league and go unbeaten: "It probably would have been like when I came here to Chelsea I just met a club with a lot of ambitions and personally I also have a lot of ambitions and high expectations. It was the main goal for us to be successful together. With being unbeaten, that's not only a title, that's a big achievement. For all the club, it's a really good season and feels great."

On whether she has a standout moment from the season: Before the game I just showed my players a video clip with the great moments we had in the season. I showed them that every player in the squad had good moments in this title. I want to thank my players and my staff because we all worked so hard. To be able to enjoy that with fans, friends, family is the best moment we can hand."

On how much the players can celebrate tonight: "Next game is only next Sunday so we have a little bit of time to celebrate. I think it's just about finding the right balance between celebrating, especially today I really want to thank the club because they did everything right with the fans but also after for the celebrations. We have a really nice place booked and we'll all go after with family and friends. At the latest it's 10 o'clock, so not too late!"

More from Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, speaking to BBC Sport, on how difficult it is to go unbeaten: "It's hard. As soon as we won the trophy [League Cup], everyone's mindset switched to keeping the season unbeaten. Sonia made that a must for everyone. You can tell how hungry we were today to make sure we kept the clean sheet. There's a lot more to come from this team, we didn't get the Quadruple this year but I'm sure it will be coming back in some year."

On celebrating before focusing on the FA Cup final: "I'm not celebrating, I'm too tired I'm not going to lie! I think there's either a ban or a curfew to make sure we're ready for that Treble. It's going to be a tough game next week at Wembley but we know anything's possible. I have every faith in everyone next week to go and get that FA Cup."

  9. 'I love playing at Wembley'published at 15:45 British Summer Time

    FT: Arsenal 4-3 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Man Utd midfielder Ella Toone, speaking to BBC: "I think there was probably a period in the second half where they had momentum. We didn't stop it and the goals came quick. that is something we can learn from., Overall it was a good game and we can be proud of the season we've had. We wanted to get that second place so it's bitter sweet.

"There's a lot to be proud of. We've got Champions League football and that's what we set out to do. We should be proud of ourselves. There are obviously games where we've dropped points but we can be really proud of that.

"We've got a massive game next week and one we're going to prepare really hard for. That's our trophy and we want to bring it back home.

"It's probably the first [header] of my career. I'm not so good with my head! It's what I want to do. This season has been difficult but I always try to give it all for the team and I'll work even harder next season.

"We're really excited for it. We've been there twice now, failed once and got the victory. We know what to takes to play in the FA Cup we've got all week to prepare ourselves. it's a final so anything can happen. We love playing at Wembley, I love playing at Wembley. The fans are amazing, they travel up and down so we know the fans will be with us."

  10. 'Surrreal to lift WSL at Stamford Bridge'published at 15:43 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

    Chelsea

Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton on where this title win ranks in her career, speaking to BBC Sport: "It's up there. It's quite nice being able to lift a WSL trophy at your home ground. Being 'proper Chels' as everyone calls me, it's surreal to say we're at Stamford Bridge lifting the WSL. You can see with everyone's smiles on their faces. For me it's definitely up there."

On the feeling when Aggie Beever-Jones scored: "I don't think there was much celebration. I looked up and everyone was just collapsed on the floor. I think it was just relief more than anything. We dominated the game in terms of possession. They had a couple of chances but nothing too serious and we've been grinding out results all season. People have been popping up all season to poke a goal in or two. The fact that it was Aggie today, she's the stargirl of this club who has come through the academy and is showing the little girls it's possible to make your dreams come true."

Chelsea skipper Millie Bright speaking to Sky Sports: "Each time it gets better and better, this season especially we have won it with two games to go, gone unbeaten, that is the biggest achievement for me, It shows our development as a club and a team.

"We keep pushing the boundaries and leading the way and there is no reason for that other than sheer determination, and the willingness of the club to keep investing in us as a women's side and keeping on developing us. yes we missed out on the Champions League but next year we will be back, 100%."

On Bompastor v Hayes: "It has been the smoothest transition I have ever experienced. When there is so much change you don't know how it's going to go. New squad, new manager, everyone jumped on board from the off and from the first day she came in she excited us. This is what we want to achieve, these are the trophies we want to win and everyone was on board and super competitive."

On winning year after year: "For us the change came at the right time. Everyone accepted that and I think we needed that to go to another level. We needed something fresh, something different and to be honest everyone has taken their game to a new level and collectively we have got even stronger. Mentality wise as a Chelsea player you are here to win and that's that."

Congrats to Chelsea for winning again, but this one team league is not doing the women's game any favours, yes Arsenal are in the final but they weren't even close in the league and the gulf between the class of the top 4 and rest will only grow. Something has to be done

  15. 'Potentially once in a lifetime'published at 15:26 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

    Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Keira Walsh speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a great day, I think I'm even a bit sunburnt! To finish the season with over 100 goals in all competitions shows what this team's mentality is about. It was a good controlled performance today and a good way to end the season.

"The club matches my mentality and we have another big game next week and we want to win another trophy. It is nice to celebrate today but I'm pretty sure Sonia will want us focused again tomorrow for next weekend."

On going invincible: "Sonia told us that it's not every day that you can go and break records, potentially once in a lifetime. We were focused on that and also playing good football today and that is what we did."

On going again next week: "That is in the back of our minds but we have to celebrate days like today. The girls have done a really good season and it has been really long with a lot of games. Enjoy today but like I said tomorrow Sonia will want us back focused for next weekend."

And just like that... another WSL season is done and dusted. Chelsea was unstoppable. Arsenal had a wobble. United had a tough run-in, but 2 points from the last four games is not a great return. Is Skinner the right man for the job? As for Brighton, their form in the second half of the season hasn't been great. Fifth is a fantastic result, but the gulf in quality between the top four and the rest is too big.

  17. 'We still have a lot of room to improve'published at 15:20 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor speaking to Sky Sports: "As a club, as a manager you need to reflect on the season. We still have one more game and it's a really important one. We want to get the Treble this season. I already started to reflect, the thing is, which is difficult to believe again, we still have a lot of room to improve. That is in different areas; squad, mentality, staff, infrastructures, that will all help us to be even more on top.

On sharing the moment with her family: "It means a lot. My family is everything for me. They are my support. When you take the decision as a manager to move country it is not just about me, it was also about them. In the beginning, when they started to realise I was leaving Lyon for Chelsea they literally were saying, "No, we're not going with you." And I was like wow.

"It was difficult in the beginning but everyone in the club helped us to settle in London and that is also a big part of the success. To see my kids enjoying these moments, it is the best thing that can happen in life."

  18. 'It was about winning today'published at 15:18 British Summer Time

    FT: Arsenal 4-3 Man Utd

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers, speaking to BBC on the future of Chloe Kelly: "That's all happening in the background, my main focus has been to get the team as ready as always for United. We needed to get second place and then the final. Of course we are planning for the future.

"We played the team that was in front of us. United made it hard for us with the press. If you play it well and get your details right then you can play through the press. It was about winning today.

"Small margins are going to count for us. We play at the highest levels and our players for the national teams. Our schedules are very busy so getting our days off are hard. We invest so much and I'm really happy for the fans.

On the Champions League final: "We're going have one recovery and one day off now and then it's all about preparing and finding the right balance of recovering and pushing them. We'll put the final plans in place tomorrow."

I think Bompastor will have been given a very sharp insight into how difficult it is to win this league.

Her mind is already on next season. How is she going to develop this team? They have a great chance to make it a domestic treble.

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor speaking to Sky Sports: "It is difficult to realise [what it means]. We had the opportunity to play our final home game here in front of our fans and as you can see the atmopshere was amazing. I think as a manager, players and staff you only live these moments maybe once in your life. It is difficult to believe but you need to enjoy it because it is a great achievement.

"[Her staff] deserve all the credit. Most of the time as the manager you get all the light but they are working behind the scenes. All the players and staff it is a day by day routine, they work so hard, have the right mentality and they lead by example and that is important for the players. They also deserve to enjoy this moment.

"All through the season I said this league is really competitive. I was talking to my assistant coaches and told them that we need to enjoy the moment because being able to join a new club, in a new country, is a big achievement. We've been unbeaten in the season, that is a really great achievement because every game was tough, even though for some people that is difficult to believe, but even today we find the goal in the last minute to win."
