Arsenal are having a nightmare. West Ham are in dreamland.

It was Asseyi with a great delivery. Arsenal were pleading with the referee that it hadn't gone over the line. In that set piece, West Ham won all of the balls, they were the quickest players to react.

Katie McCabe is in the right place to stop Shekiera Martinez getting another goal for West Ham.

Arsenal are looking very shaky at the back.

Not a bad time for Amber Tysiak to get her first league goal of the season.

West Ham United have avoided defeat in their last three matches when scoring first in the WSL, since a 1-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on 3rd November 2024.

I can't believe what just happened. The Arsenal defence seemed to just stand still. Tysiak was isolated in the penalty box and it has taken the whole stadium by surprise.

That could be a hammer blow to Arsenal's hope of a top two finish.

Viviane Asseyi nearly makes it 1-0 to the Hammers.

Her shot is pushed behind for a corner.

Captain Kim Little makes an excellent tackle to put Asseyi off.

Arsenal are putting the pressure on West Ham in the early stages and looking to force the Hammers into mistakes.

That was nearly the worst possible start. It was a great recovery run from Szemik just as Russo was about to pull the trigger. West Ham need to fix up and focus now.

West Ham have really turned things around recently. They are hard-working and are a hard team to beat.

I'm loving what Camila Saez is doing up-front. She is an integral part of the team and she will be the one that Arsenal are looking out for.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton Dario Vidosic speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm almost a little bit disappointed. I think we had the opportunities to go 3-1 up and we didn't and then it felt like the result maybe scared us, that we were winning 2-1. We had it there. But that is all part of the journey and the process.

"Overall very, very proud. We have bounced back after a tough couple of weeks, for different reasons, and today we showed what we can do against the best in the country."

On the Chelsea equaliser: "It is hard to tell [if James is offside] from the angle we have. You hope not because then it cuts a bit deeper. We played well in both boxes, defended very well and when they got their opportunities Mel [Loeck] came up big. The goalkeepers had some big moments today. Overall a well deserved point."

On Chelsea: "They normally try to play expansive with the centre backs but they changed it up a bit today. We wanted to play a little bit more but identified the areas where we could do that and push up with the front three. We created a lot of chances and that should give us a lot of belief going forward."

On Fran Kirby's injury: "it is normal. She has been out for two and a half months and then comes into this high intensity environment. To do what she did in the game shows her quality and professionalism and fingers crossed it is nothing serious. We've had enough injuries!"

Alessia Russo is such a hard worker for Arsenal. Centrally, inside the penalty box, she is so dangerous. Everything that falls to her seems to turn into goals; that's what confidence does.

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers is fully aware of the threat West Ham pose to her side this evening.

"I think they’re going to make it very hard for us, which they did in the away game as well. They have their identity as a team, they’re looking to find their identity and they’re coming closer and closer.

"What they will do is close down spaces and try to threaten us in different ways and I think it’s going to be a hard game, so we have to be on top."

West Ham forward Viviane Asseyi captains her side today and she is full of confidence that the Hammers can get the better of Arsenal again.

"Arsenal are a very big team, but all the teams in this league are big. It will be a hard game but we are prepared," she said.

"I think it would be better [to beat Arsenal away from home] because it’s in their house. But my penalty against them last season was in front of the away end and I could hear the jeers before I took it. That was just more motivation for me to score.

"The most important thing is to win. I’m a striker, so any time I can assist, score, or help the team, I’m so happy.

"I love it, and having Arsenal and Manchester City coming up - those are the games you play football for."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Player of the Match Madison Hayley speaking to Sky Sports: "We have not had the results we have wanted in the last couple of months so today we were focused on the performance and I think we did exactly what we wanted to do.

"We know the quality that Chelsea have and the team that they are so to get a point against them to keep our unbeaten run at home is huge for us."

On Dario Vidosic's half time words: "To keep at it. We didn't want to sit back. We wanted to put Chelsea under pressure. We wanted them to feel us. We are at home and we wanted them to feel that. They struggled with the pressure we put on them.

"It was a real team effort. We were all committed to sticking to the game plan and it was reallt effective today. It is a shame we couldn't get more but we are happy with the point.

"They had to match our intensity and that is something that we are about. You can play pretty football but you need to be up for the battle. We were up for it from the first minute and they had to come and match us."

On her battle with Naomi Girma: "I played with Nay in college so it was nice to play against her again. I told her in the tunnel that she should remember how it is to play against me. It was a fantastic battle. She is a great signing for Chelsea and I am really excited to have one of my good friends here in the UK."
