Chris Wood now has a record 44 goals for New Zealand
Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood continued his fine season with a second hat-trick in two internationals as New Zealand demolished Fiji 7-0.
He was then substituted and was shown a yellow card for signing autographs and taking photographs with the crowd as the game was going on.
The 33-year-old has scored 18 Premier League goals this season and has now helped his country move within one win of getting to a third World Cup.
The All Whites will meet New Caledonia in the final of Oceania qualifying in Auckland on Monday.
New Zealand missed out on the past three World Cups with defeats in intercontinental play-offs.
But with Oceania allocated an automatic berth for the first time, Darren Bazeley's team need only to beat New Caledonia to reach their first World Cup since South Africa 2010.
"We know how good New Caledonia are and we're going to have to be ready for them," said captain Wood.
"We know they're going to cause us problems. We need to focus on doing recovery well now and be ready to go Monday."
Wood put three goals past Samoa in an 8-0 win last November and soon chalked up another hat-trick to take him to 44 international goals.
He headed in a cross from Sarpreet Singh after six minutes and thumped in the other two goals in a five-minute burst before the hour mark.
He was promptly substituted to a standing ovation from the 21,000 crowd and went up to the terraces to mix with fans as the game went on.
When he returned to the side of the pitch he was booked, but will be available for the final against New Caledonia.

The striker was booked for signing autographs and taking photographs in the crowd while the match went on
