"This past six months have gone so quickly. I stay in the present and I take every moment as it comes."

On his goal: "All I remember is staying wide and rotating with Marcus Rashford. Jude loves to stay on the half-turn. It was a great pass from him and the timing was very good.

"The finish, the keeper was coming at me, and I tried to put it between the legs.

"I didn't even think I was going to score."

On when he found out he would start: "I found out in the morning in the meeting and when I saw my name my heart started to pound - I was so excited.

"So many message before the game. They are all here tonight and it means the world to them.

"Honestly, it is incredible - this is a day I'll never forget."

If anything with those two [Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden] I thought they were fortunate to be called in with the way it is going.

If I'm on the outside of that from a wing point of view, I would think I have got to step my game up.

We know that Foden can come inside. He has the license to do that, but as the manager said nobody went passed anybody.

"Myles Lewis-Skelly debuts with me on the pitch, so I am not all alone. He did fantastic, nothing but impressive."

On the game: "OK-ish. Difficult opponent. I knew before it can be hard to create chances.

"They [Albania] came here to play in front of 80,000-plus at Wembley. They did everything to make life hard. We struggled to implement a high-rhythm.

"Second half, I felt we lose confidence in our structure and everyone tries it on their own and it becomes slower.

"It is more difficult to have counter-pressing."

On wide players: "We will encourage them. We played with wide wingers because we have fantastic players. They didn't have the influence that we expected from them. We need to make sure they have better timing with the runs."

On fans possibly not being entertained: "You want to see an open match.

"I can understand it's not the most exciting watch, but we still needed to do what was needed to do.

"We took more risk in the second half, but it didn't work out the way we wanted."

You're there to affect games and with the new manager you want to make a good impression.

Rashford and Foden certainly didn't do that tonight.

Foden won't have that problem coming up of where he wants to play because he won't be playing - thats a bigger problem for him.

Myles Lewis-Skelly has done everything right. Yesterday, he was probably dreaming to play.

He was dead relaxed, but he wasn't tested defensively.

To secure the position he will have to show he can stand up defensively.

It doesn't get much better [for Myles Lewis-Skelly].

The opportunity has fallen to him, the timing has been great. The amount of injuries Arsenal had got him in the team.

Those doors have opened, but he has had to grab those opportunities.

He looks to be a top player.

England's Jude Bellingham, speaking to ITV: "Pretty good, we had clear ideas of what we wanted to do and how to play. It is difficult against a team that sits so low. Generally we stuck to the plan well, we had a really good week of training. A good win to start the new era."

On Myles Lewis-Skelly: "When you come into the team there are a lot of lads here to help you out. We wanted to do what we could to help him enjoy it and I think he did.

On things to work on: "Keeping the rhythm, keeping the tempo. Maybe being a bit more clinical. The more we are together as a group the more we will learn."

The schedule has been hectic for these players, physically draining matches at the top level.

We are all wanting to see how Thomas Tuchel's counter-attacking plan is going to happen.

There is so many questions, but ultimately they have to manage the game itself and England did that well tonight.

England boss Thoma Tuchel, speaking to ITV: "We can do better, we have to do better. We started well, we had seven-eight minutes with 100% ball possession with a lot of passes and high energy.

"The opponent is hard to break down as they defend in a deep block.

"In the Euros they managed to not concede chances. Second half, I felt we were too slow and in general not enough runs off the ball to get behind the line."

On Myles Lewis-Skelly: "Amazing player. Amazing personality. He came into camp and showed straight away that it's normal to fall in love with him. It is well deserved."

On Jude Bellingham: "No doubt he is a key player for us. Fantastic pass to assist the first goal. I expect special things from Jude. He is ready to take the responsibility and we have to create an environment and structure where we can see more of it."

On wide positions, Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden: "We hope for more impact in these positions.

"More dribbling and more aggressive runs towards the box. In general that was missing. The chances come from the little runs behind the line.

"There was a bit missing they were not as decisive as they can be."

“I knew he was going to play like that tonight because of the confidence he has.

“He has kept his feet on the ground and it is only the start for him."

On Thomas Tuchel: “Only four days training together we need to keep working and getting used to what he [Thomas Tuchel] wants from us.

“To get off to a good start in the group is what we wanted.”

It was a difficult game from a spectating perspective.

It had all the interest of Thomas Tuchel's first squad which I think was interesting with Myles Lewis-Skelly, Dan Burn and Marcus Rashford.

Once we got into the rhythm, it was very much that England game at Wembley, against inferior opposition where they struggled to break them down.
