  3. Second-half blitz helps Motherwell beat Hamiltonpublished at 17:55 BST 7 September

    FT: Motherwell 4-1 Hamilton Academical

Three second-half goals helped Motherwell sweep aside Hamilton Academical and secure a first win of the SWPL season.

The sides went into half-time level after Chloe Muir struck on 15 minutes for Hamilton and Sophie Black responded a minute later for Motherwell.

However, the hosts took control in the second period, as Katie Rice, Bailley Collins and Hannah Cairns all found the back of the net.

Motherwell jump up to eighth in the 10-team table, while Hamilton are bottom having lost all four of their matches.

Rangers moved top of the SWPL with a 2-0 victory over Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Mia McAulay put the visitors in front after 63 minutes when she fired into the top left corner from Katie Wilkinson's cut-back.

Eilidh Austin doubled that advantage with 11 minutes to play at New Douglas Park, rising unmarked at the far post to head beyond Lisa Rodgers thanks to fellow scorer McAulay's cross.

Wilkinson had tried to give Rangers the lead early on when she launched a strike from outside the Celtic box, but it looped up and over.

The first real chance for Celtic came when Maria McAneny picked up deep into the Rangers half and tried to set up Morgan Cross at the back post, though with too much pace on the pass.

A Cross effort from inside the box was blocked by goalkeeper Jenna Fife and Rangers' Brogan Hay and Lizzie Arnot were off target in the game's other big chances.

Leanne Crichton's Rangers are a point clear of Celtic and Glasgow City, with City having a game in hand.

  5. Hearts consign champions Hibs to first SWPL defeatpublished at 15:17 BST 7 September

    FT: Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Hearts consigned SWPL champions Hibernian to their first league defeat of the season in the Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle.

Georgia Timms confidently converted a penalty in the 69th minute and Jessica Husband lashed in a clinching second for the hosts with eight minutes left.

Earlier, Carly Johns almost robbed goalkeeper Noa Schumacher on the edge of the Hibs box but the American was able to recover.

Hibs forward Kathleen McGovern tested Rachael Johnstone at her near post and smacked the rebound into the side netting. Team-mate Eilidh Adams also headed over in the first half.

In the second period, Schumacher denied Johns at close range and Rosie Livingstone drew a save from Johnstone at the other end.

McGovern then had a header blocked by Johnstone and, almost straight away, Olufolasade Adamolekun's bending shot was beaten out by Schumacher.

But Timms eventually found the net from 12 yards after Johns ran on to substitute Bayley Hutchison's pass and was tripped by Schumacher.

Monica Forsyth had an effort saved by the Hibs keeper before sub Slattery laid on the chance for Husband to clinch the three points from the left-hand side of the box.

Hibs pushed for a consolation and McGovern's free-kick in added time was narrowly over the crossbar.

Hearts move on to seven points from four games with Hibs on six points after three fixtures.

  6. Aberdeen deny Partick Thistle with late goalpublished at 15:16 BST 7 September

    FT: Aberdeen 1-1 Partick Thistle

Aberdeen struck in added time to secure a point against Partick Thistle in the SWPL.

Lia Tweedie gave visitors Thistle a 73rd-minute lead.

It looked as though the Glasgow side would pick up the win but Toni Leigh Finnegan set up Bridget Galloway to equalise in the fourth minute off injury time.

Both sides have four points from their opening four league games.

  7. Glasgow City beat Montrose to maintain 100% recordpublished at 14:58 BST 7 September

    FT: Glasgow City 5-0 Montrose

Glasgow City maintained their 100% SWPL record with a comfortable victory against visitors Montrose.

Emily Whelan set up Abi Harrison to give City the lead and Lana Golob doubled that advantage from Lisa Evans' assist just before the break.

Evans did the set-up work again as Erin McLaughlin netted Glasgow's third early in the second half.

Mebae Tanaka added her name to the scoresheet and Lisa Forrest converted a penalty in the 90th minute.

City have three wins out of three while Montrose remain on three points.
