The SWPL weekend kicked off with a five-goal thriller between Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic.

Jenny Smith fired home after just two minutes to put the visitors ahead as they looked for their first win in the past nine meetings with their city neighbours.

Elena Sadiku's side continued to dominate the first half, but Rangers' found a way back when a corner was not properly dealt with and Laura Berry snatched on the loose ball to stab in from a few yards out.

The hosts took the lead in the second half when top-scorer Katie Wilkinson glanced in McAulay's header for her 17th goal of the season.

Celtic clawed their way back into it when a cross from the left bounced around the Rangers' box and Saoirse Noonan fired in from close range.

However, it was Rangers who sealed victory when a superb ball over the top from half-time substitute Kim Shin-Ji put Mia McAulay in behind and the teenage winger picked out the top corner.
