That's not a half for the League One season highlights reel.

Jay Stansfield has come closest to breaking the deadlock with Crawley goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott superbly saving his 20 yard drive.

It's lacking quality and Crawley have worked very hard to restrict the visitors.

Remember Crawley can climb out of the drop zone or Birmingham can go top tonight - as it stands neither of those two things is going to happen.

We'll hope for better in the second period.

We're heading up towards half-time and that brief flurry from Birmingham seems to have subsided.

Crawley might have half an eye on the clock - they've restricted the visitors to just three efforts on goal.

Back come Crawley - Tola Showunmi runs Krystian Bielik ragged and the Polish international concedes a corner.

Crawley take it short but when the ball does come in Showunmi is offside.

Signs it's beginning to warm up and not before time.

A silly free-kick conceded by Crawley - remember what we said about their fragility at set pieces? Well the ball drops on the edge of the box to Jay Stansfield and his shot is superbly saved by Jojo Wollacott - that's better.

So, Ronan Darcy is on for Crawley - he was left out today after suffering with a bit of illness over the past week.

He has also been linked with a possible January move to...Birmingham.

We've got a stoppage for an injury - Crawley's Ade Adeyemo is down and they need to make a concussion substitution.

Crawley have limited Birmingham's space really well, Birmingham just need to use the ball better and a bit quicker.

The game just needs a spark, it has been really flat at the moment.

Chrisoph Klarer blocks his man to prevent Crawley getting forward - he's fortunate to escape with nothing more than a ticking-off from referee Farai Hallam.

The home fans are briefly enraged before taking their seats again.

We've hit the midway point of the first-half and it's not really got going although that might be an understatement.

Crawley will be the happier with how it's gone so far.

A corner for Crawley but all they manage to do is give Ryan Allsop in the visitors' goal some catching practice - need to do better with those.

Only Wycombe have more points on the road than Birmingham in League One this season but their two defeats have come away from home at Charlton and Shrewsbury.

A very bright start from Crawley.

They are overly keen on the long ball so far which is eliminating the Birmingham midfield from the game.

Birmingham haven't imposed themselves on this game yet.

Some sharp Birmingham passing inside the Crawley half but the home side are getting men behind the ball - they call it a low block these days...

A chance for Crawley to get forward as Willum Willumsson gives the ball away but they fail to finish with any kind of effort on goal - they might not get many chances tonight so need to make the most of any Birmingham errors.
