Crystal Palace thrashed Championship side Sheffield United to progress to the fifth round of the Women's FA Cup.

Palace, who are bottom of the Women's Super League (WSL) with five points, took the lead in the sixth minute when Molly-Mae Sharpe drilled home a cross at the far post.

Ashleigh Weerden doubled their advantage just before the half hour mark, racing in behind the United defence and firing into the far corner.

Mille Gejl, Weerden and My Cato scored for Palace in the second half, before Alyssa Aherne scored a consolation on her debut for the visitors.

An own goal from Olivia Page made it 6-1 as Palace become the fifth WSL side to beat lower-league opposition and progress.

The match - originally scheduled for Sunday - was one of seven fourth-round ties postponed due to frozen pitches.

Palace will host Championship side Newcastle United in the next round.

Fifth-round ties will be played across the weekend of 8 and 9 February.
