Allegri was sent off during the match for ranting at match officials, while he waved away Juventus' directors during the post-match trophy celebrations.

The club said his actions were not in keeping with the club's ethos and replaced him with Thiago Motta.

Reigning champions Napoli returned to the top of the table after their comeback victory against Genoa earlier this evening.

Overnight leaders AC Milan were leapfrogged earlier this afternoon after Roma's 2-1 win against Fiorentina.

But AC Milan can return to the top of the table with a win in Turin, while Juventus could move into third with three points of their own.
