Cliftonville's Caitlin McGuinness
The European adventure is over for Cliftonville as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Lanchkhuti in their Women's Champions League First Qualifying Round final in Pristina.
Three days on from their historic win over KFF Mitrovica, the Reds were unable to replicate their heroics as two goals inside a minute from the Georgians proved too high a hurdle to overcome.
Anano Tsikaridze opened the scoring in the 55th minute and less than 60 seconds later, Eter Sulashvili doubled the advantage.
Cliftonville hit back late on through Abbie Magee, but they were unable to force extra-time.
On Wednesday, the north Belfast club scored their first Champions League win with Carla Devine the hero and they sought to pick up where they left off.
Caitlin McGuinness had an early effort, while Devine - starting in place of the suspended Kirsty McGuinness - also saw an effort miss the target.
Gradually, the Georgians grew into it and Cliftonville goalkeeper Rachael Norney was called into action to thwart Tsikaridze.
At the other end, Teegan Lynch saw her effort saved by Tatia Gabunia, but the Georgians were getting closer to the opener with Sulashvili rattling the woodwork and then was denied by Norney as the first half ended scoreless.
The goal would come 10 minutes after the restart as Tsikaridze beat Norney and with Cliftonville reeling, Lanchkhuti took full advantage with Sulashvili making it 2-0 straight after.
Cliftonville looked for a way back but McGuinness couldn't find the target, while Lanchkhuti remained a threat and Norney had to get down to save from Sulashvili.
Naomi McLaughlin had a couple of efforts saved by Gabunia, while Marissa Callaghan couldn't direct an effort on goal as the minutes ticked down.
Magee gave Cliftonville hope with a goal in the 90th minute and she had a shot saved by Gabunia five minutes into added time.
That proved to be Cliftonville's last chance as they came up just with Lanchkhuti moving into the second qualifying round where they will face Ukraine's FC Vorskla Poltava.
