This will be Nottingham Forest’s first ever major European meeting with a Portuguese opponent. English teams are unbeaten in the last 10 UEFA Europa League games against Portuguese sides (W3 D7) since a 1-0 win for Braga versus Wolves in September 2019.
This is FC Porto’s 50th major European match against English opponents. They’ll be the fifth team to do that, after Barcelona (87), Bayern Munich (67), Real Madrid (60) and Juventus (53), though Porto have lost more games against English teams than anyone else (27).
FC Porto are looking to win their first three major European matches in a season for the first time since 2012-13 in the UEFA Champions League.
The two players who’ve created the most open play chances in the UEFA Europa League this season are Nottingham Forest duo Callum Hudson-Odoi and Elliot Anderson (7), while the latter has also conceded the joint most fouls (7) and won the most fouls (13) of any player,and ranks joint fourth for successful final third passes (40).
