Sam Bell and Cauley Woodrow grabbed debut goals as Wycombe beat Mansfield at Adams Park.
Bell opened his Wycombe account 13 minutes into his debut, the Bristol City loanee capitalising on a poor defensive header before looping the ball over the onrushing Liam Roberts.
Mansfield came closest to scoring late in the first half, with Ryan Sweeney's header crashing off the crossbar via Mikki van Sas' right hand.
The Chairboys deserved their lead at the interval, the first time they had led at half-time in any competition since the final game of last season.
Wycombe doubled their lead from the penalty spot just seven minutes into the second half, after Fred Onyedinma was felled in the area. Cauley Woodrow, on loan from Luton, confidently stepped up to smash home.
Mansfield worked hard to try and force their way back into the contest but the home defence stood strong allowing van Sas to claim a first clean sheet of the season.
