There really isn't much to separate these two sides this season - they sit seventh (Liverpool) and eighth (West Ham), respectively, in the WSL - so we could be in for a close encounter.

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers said her side will have to "on their toes" against Bristol City, labelling the Championship outfit a "top team".

Bristol City are second in the Championship table, behind Birmingham City only on goal difference.

"It's going to be an interesting game. It's going to be challenging in the way that it's our first game back after the break," Slegers said.

"Bristol City is a top team in the Championship. We definitely shouldn't think this is going to be an easy one.

"What we're going to ask from the girls is to be on their toes in this game against this opposition."

A good move from Pauline Bremer, but it doesn't end up troubling Tatiana Saunders too much.

Bremer shoves off her defender and dribbles into the box before firing an effort towards the near post. It's easily tracked and held by the Durham goalkeeper.

Rehanne Skinner said West Ham want to "hit the ground running" in the FA Cup.

"I love the FA Cup, and our game against Liverpool is something that everybody is looking forward to," Skinner said before the game. "We’ve explained about the competition to the players who are from abroad, because everyone’s got their own versions of competitions that stand out in their country.

"We’ve explained about the historical nature of the competition and that it’s not just a cup, it’s got this real background and history to it.

"The league is huge for us, but this is an opportunity to hit the ground running in the FA Cup. We want to make sure we give a good account of ourselves and try to go on a cup run, and to add to the improvements made over the course of the season as well."

Bristol City's tie with Arsenal is a good opportunity to test themselves against one of the top sides in the country, says manager Steven Kirby.

Arsenal currently sit fourth in the Women's Super League, while Bristol City are second in the Championship - level on points with leaders Birmingham - and have promotion back to the top flight as their main goal.

"It's one that we want to use as a measure to see where we're at. It couldn't be a better team to do that against," Kirby told BBC Points West.

"For us it's a huge opportunity to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the country but an opportunity in the competition - we won't be there to make up the numbers.

"We'll be going to try and win the game, see if we can perform as well as we can and see what we can get from the game."

Liverpool boss Matt Beard hopes his side can go far in the Women's FA Cup "and keep our season alive".

The Reds play West Ham twice in four days, tonight in the FA Cup and again in the Women's Super League on Sunday.

"I see this FA Cup tie as a very important game," Beard said before the game. "We want to go on a good run in this competition and keep our season alive.

"Staying in the FA Cup can keep everything driving and it’s important for the supporters as well. It’s one we definitely want to win.

"West Ham are doing alright and they had a good win over Everton at the weekend. They have been picking results up and Rehanne Skinner is doing a very good job there. It’s like anything, things take time. As a manager when you come in and inherit someone else’s team, it takes time."
