Antony has six goals and four assists in 19 appearances for Real Betis since joining on loan in January
Fiorentina goalkeeper David de Gea joked that former team-mate Antony beat him with a right-footed effort for the first time as the Brazilian rifled in a stunning goal in Real Betis' Europa Conference League win against the Italian club.
The on-loan Manchester United winger fired brilliantly past De Gea in Seville to help his side to a 2-1 semi-final first-leg victory.
It was Antony's sixth goal since leaving Old Trafford on loan to join the Spanish club in January.
The left-footed winger joined United in 2022 from Ajax for a fee of £87m and spent a season alongside De Gea prior to the Spaniard's departure on a free transfer in 2023.
"I trained with Antony 1,000 times and he never scored a goal with his right foot in any training session," De Gea told Spanish broadcaster Movistar.
"I'm happy for him because he was coming from a difficult moment at United and now he's showing the best of himself."
Betis are keen to keep Antony beyond the end of his loan deal, which expires at the end of the season.
Former Betis winger Joaquin joked he will help "kidnap" the former Ajax forward in order to keep him at the club.
"I'll provide the car if he has to be kidnapped, but let him stay no matter what. This is the moment to enjoy. I think important moments will come, and we'll see later," said Joaquin.
Abde Ezzalzouli put Betis ahead in the sixth minute, with his effort crashing in off the crossbar and over the line.
Antony doubled the side's lead before Fiorentina captain Luca Ranieri pulled a goal back for the visitors, arriving in the box to arrow a low drive past the outstretched hand of Francisco Vieites.
The Italian club had several chances to level the tie but were unable to find an equaliser as their nine-match unbeaten run ended.
Robin Gosens missed the best of them, glancing a header inches wide at the near post to leave them with an uphill battle at home in Florence next week.
The winner of the tie will likely face Chelsea in the final on 28 May after they won 4-1 away to Djurgarden in the other semi-final first leg.
