This club spends freely, but has no left-back. Why? And Bright’s lack of pace has been exploited by luckless Villa. And… a starting midfield without a tackler? How does Nusken not play every week? Thank G for Cuthbert!

For me, Hannah Hampton is player of the match because, if not for her saves in the first half, Chelsea could've been 2-1, if not 3-1 down.

I said last week before the City game that Chelsea won't romp the league this season. Arsenal have recruited well and are playing with a swagger, Man Utd will grind out results, City can challenge if Shaw/Hemp stay fit. Sonia Bompastor needs to play her best team every game.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:50 BST

    Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea

Catarina Macario is replaced by Oriane Jean-Francois.

  11. Postpublished at 13:50 BST

    Leicester 1-0 Liverpool

Was that the chance for Liverpool? Substitute Kirsty MacLean drives into the box from the right wing, brushing off a couple of defenders, but her curling effort goes over the bar.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:49 BST

    Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea

It's all going on everywhere! Erin Cuthbert sets herself up to have a crack on a half-volley but smashes her effort off the bar.

There'll be five minutes of added time at the King Power Stadium.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:48 BST

    London City 1-5 Man Utd

Nearly another for London City! They are denied by the crossbar and can't turn in the rebound.

It was Izzy Goodwin with the effort. It looks like it might have gone over the line. The officials don't think it has.

It would be good for the league if someone ( anyone ) could get a result against Chelsea.

    Jess Park (87 mins)

    FIVE.

We've already been treated to some brilliant strikes today. This is another.

Jess Park carries the ball up the pitch, cuts inside and sends a rocket into the top corner.

Elene Lete should maybe have done better in the London City goal. She stayed rooted to her spot.

  19. 'Kerr has to build confidence'published at 13:46 BST

    Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Chelsea and England defender on Sky Sports

Sam Kerr pre-injury wouldn't have given that chance up but she's got to build that confidence. I think Sam Kerr will kick herself when she watches that back. Hopefully, it only takes a couples of games for her to get that back.

  20. Postpublished at 13:45 BST

    Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea

    Close again for Chelsea!

Sam Kerr gives the ball to Aggie Beever-Jones, but her team mate can't beat Ellie Roebuck from close range.

Kerr should probably have taken that on herself instead. She was in a good position.
