English youngster Jamie Gittens scored again as Borussia Dortmund picked up an important point in their push for a European spot with a draw at Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 20-year-old broke the deadlock in the second half with an excellent piece of individual skill, beating two defenders before whipping a strike into the far corner.
It was the Reading-born winger's fifth Bundesliga goal of the season and his fourth in as many games in all competitions.
But Dortmund, who have not won away in the league this season, only had a short-lived lead. The hosts levelled just six minutes later when Kevin Stoger converted from the penalty spot after Tim Kleindeinst was brought down in the box.
Both sides struggled to muster much of an attacking threat in a scrappy encounter. Monchengladbach, who had striker Tomas Cvancara sent off after picking up a second yellow card in added time, managed five shots on target while Dortmund had just three.
The result leaves Dortmund fifth with 21 points, 12 off the top. In a tight group battling for the European qualification spots, Monchengladbach are 11th but only three points behind Dortmund.
