Renee Slegers has done a phenomenal job, she has turned the club around. They had a brilliant squad but she found that magic concoction to get them playing perfectly together and get the job done.

Listening to the players talk they say how she just treats them as players and people. Her man-management skills look fantastic. As a player if you are feeling confident, if you are feeling valued, if you are feeling part of something, then that shows when you are out on the pitch and we have seen that in quite a lot of those players.

"Have a great summer and we'll see you next season" is the final call from the mic on the stage as the players start to wrap up the celebration.

That certainly won't the end of their celebrations though, they'll certainly be enjoying themselves for the rest of today.

  6. 'This is a magnificent achievement'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 26 May

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright said the achievement of Arsenal's women had "saved the club" after the "embarrassment" of the men's side failing to win a trophy in 2024-25.

"We've got something to celebrate. Of course they need a parade," he told TNT Sports.

"Nobody gave them a chance. Even I was saying it's going to be tough.

"They [Barcelona] average four goals a game.

"We needed to score goals to make sure we beat them, in the end it was only one. Everyone wrote them off. They deserve everything they are getting, all the accolades.

"This is a magnificent achievement. Look how far it's come. I remember when the Champions League was at Boreham Wood. Look where we are and Arsenal winning it, it's amazing."

Put simply, Spurs and Arsenal Women are the two best teams in London. Both have won European trophies this season and deservedly so.
