Ange-Yoan Bonny has scored three goals in seven Serie A appearances this season

Ange-Yoan Bonny's early goal helped Inter Milan edge past Roma and go top of Serie A on goal difference.

The French striker was sent through on goal by Nicolo Barella in the sixth minute and calmly slotted the ball into the near corner.

Inter almost added a second when Henrikh Mkhitaryan fired Davide Frattesi's cutback against the woodwork in the 91st minute.

Roma, who would have been outright Serie A leaders if they avoided defeat, had their best chance in the 59th minute when Artem Dovbyk headed over following a corner.

Instead, Roma are level on points with both Inter and Napoli.

Earlier on Saturday, Napoli fell to their second loss of the season after Giovanni Simeone - son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego and on loan from the Naples club - helped Torino to a 1-0 win over the defending champions.

Napoli were missing former Manchester United pair Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay through injury.
