Scott McTominay scored 10 goals for Manchester United last season
Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay scored his first goal for Napoli as his new side thrashed Palermo 5-0 in the second round of the Coppa Italia.
McTominay, 27, joined Napoli for £25.7m from Manchester United at the end of August having spent his entire career until then with the Red Devils - first attending a football school at the club aged five.
Napoli won 4-0 at Cagliari in McTominay's debut as he came off the bench, with his first start being in the 0-0 draw with Juventus on Saturday.
He was among the substitutes against second-tier side Palermo on Thursday and made an instant impact after coming on by scoring Napoli's fifth goal of the game, sweeping the ball into the net from 12 yards out with a first-time effort after Romelu Lukaku's pullback.
Cyril Ngonge had scored twice in the opening 12 minutes, with Juan Jesus adding a third for Napoli just before half-time.
Palermo had Aljosa Vasic sent off in the 58th minute before goals from David Neres and McTominay sealed the rout.
McTominay, who made his debut for United in 2017 and made 255 club appearances under four permanent managers, scored 10 goals in 43 matches last season.
However, his game time at Old Trafford was set to be limited by the arrival of Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris St-Germain.
McTominay's international team-mate Billy Gilmour, 23, started for Napoli against Palermo.
