It is less than six years since Bristol Rovers WFC, in its current form, was founded.

Manager Nathan Hallett-Young has been with them since the start as they have worked their way up from the Gloucestershire County Women's Football League to the fourth tier National League Division South West.

It has been some rise but this evening's tie with Aston Villa at Bescot Stadium is another level altogether.

“When you cast your mind back to the point when we started and we were literally playing on pitches with cabbages on, like it's just mental," he told Bristol Live, external.

"It's just another world and I'm very grateful for the Community Trust taking us on the initial point. I'm grateful that the club have now taken us on into this kind of new era.

"But I think it's one of those things where it's great to see how far we've come."

After shocking Oxford in the last round, Rovers are eyeing another, even bigger, scalp tonight.

Back to the game at Bescot Stadium and Aston Villa are still looking for a new manager after Robert de Pauw left the club in December.

His assistant Shaun Goater has been in caretaker charge ever since and was at the helm for their 3-1 win over West Ham before the winter break.

For fans of a certain age, Goater will need no introduction. The Bermudan is a legend at Manchester City for his goalscoring exploits during a five-year spell at Maine Road.

He scored 102 goals in 209 games for City, including two in a famous win over Manchester United in November 2002.

Now it's time to see what 'The Goat' has to offer in the dugout...

Speaking after Manchester City's 3-0 win over Ipswich, boss Gareth Taylor praised Vivianne Miedema for her goal on her comeback from injury: "Viv is a top player and she is always going to make this team better.

"We have to be mindful that it’s been a while since she has been back with us so hopefully this gives her the confidence and gives her more minutes under her belt to blow the cobwebs off a little bit to be ready for what’s ahead."

Last time Manchester City played Ipswich in the FA Cup, it finished 10-0 to the WSL side.

It wasn't quite so one-sided this time around but it was still comfortable enough for City as they cruised to a 3-0 win.

Jill Roord put them in front, Laura Coombs doubled the lead after the break and Vivianne Miedema came off the bench to make it three in her first appearance since undergoing knee surgery in October.

Ella Toone said the injury which ruled her out for two months was a "blessing in disguise" as the midfielder scored on her return in Manchester United's 7-0 Women's FA Cup win over West Brom on Saturday evening.

Toone came off the bench with the Reds 1-0 up against their tier-three counterparts, thanks to Melvine Malard's early finish.

Holders United were ruthless at the end as they scored six goals in 18 minutes, with substitute Rachel Williams scoring an impressive second-half hat-trick and Celin Bizet also netting twice.

But Toone's effort was the pick of the bunch, as the England international curled the ball in off the crossbar from the edge of the box in the 83rd minute, marking her comeback in emphatic fashion.

"In the first half of the season I had a lot going on and it probably affected me more than I realised when I was out on the pitch," Toone told BBC Radio 5 Live.
