Chesterfield eliminated Leyton Orient the first time they faced in the FA Cup in the first round in 1905-06 but have gone out in their last two FA Cup ties against the O’s in 1925-26 and 2005-06.
Leyton Orient have lost one of their last 11 games against Chesterfield in all competitions (W6 D4), with this their first meeting since a 3-1 win in the National League in December 2018.
Since the start of the 2021-22 season, Chesterfield have progressed from more FA Cup ties against Football League opponents than any other non-league team (4), including a 1-0 win over Portsmouth in the first round.
Leyton Orient have lost their last seven away games in the FA Cup, scoring just one goal and conceding 19 times in that run. They are, however, unbeaten in their last 23 away FA Cup games against non-league teams (W13 D10) since a 1-0 defeat to Gillingham in November 1947.
