Nigeria will have to match up with this Morocco side toe-to-toe to get back into this final.

Morocco are winning all the duels. Nigeria need to match up that energy. They are not able to put more than five passes together.

They'll need to sweat for it.

Morocco have done everything pretty well with quick transitions. But the moment they slow down the game Nigeria might get the better of them.

Emeka Ulor: It won't be an easy task for Super Falcons. These Atlas Lionesses are hungry at home with a cheering crowd. The Falcons need to be resilient and focused. Play the Naija way... now is the time for the technical crew to show their real skills.

Edward, London: Haven't followed the Wafcon to this point, but surprised to see Zambia didn't make the final, given the star power they have. Did Barbra Banda play at this tournament? Also, laser pointers should be banned at all grounds, and using them on players should be a life ban.

Should Morocco hold on in Rabat and clinch the title, there will be an incredible piece of family history completed.

Atlas Lionesses captain Ghizlane Chebbak is in line to emulate her late father Larbi, an Africa Cup of Nations winner with Morocco in 1976.

The 35-year-old forward is undoubtedly the star of this side - the player of the tournament in 2022 and joint top scorer as well.

She's been front and centre of the main TV advert aired here in Morocco promoting the national side during the tournament.

Incidentally, that triumph 49 years ago was Morocco's one and only Afcon triumph to date, and the kingdom will host the 2025 edition in December.

A home win tonight would put more pressure on Walid Regragui and his players - who are the top-ranked men's side on the continent - to deliver a remarkable double.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 26 July

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria

Had Morocco been able to plot the first half, it might have looked a little like that.

Ghizlane Chebbak's superb 13th-minute opener from outside the box and Sanaa Mssoudy's finish from closer range mean the host nation are on course to become new Wafcon winners, scoring with both of their efforts on target.

Nigeria have had more possession - plenty of which has been inside Morocco's half - but toiled in attack, producing only one accurate effort.

Goals looked a problem for Nigeria during the latter two matches of the group stage, scoring once in more than three hours of football with an 89th-minute winner against Botswana before being held by Algeria.

Justin Madugu might be tempted to bring on Asisat Oshoala at the break.

  10. CLOSE!published at 45+2 mins

Morocco threaten a third on the stroke of half-time, bursting forward through Sakina Ouzraoui after a Nigeria free-kick from the right is cleared.

Sanaa Mssoudy looks set for the first booking of the game for a late tackle on Halimatu Ayinde, but appears to escape punishment.

The scorer did give Ayinde a hug of apology.

  12. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria

There will be three minutes of added time. Nigeria deal with a ball inside their box during the first few seconds of them.

  13. Postpublished at 43 mins

Laser pens have been a familiar feature at set pieces in this half, Esther Okoronkwo putting up with more beams as the AFC Toronto forward swings another free-kick inside the penalty area from the left.

Morocco hack clear. Nigeria then send the ball behind.

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria

This is continuing to be a frustrating half for Nigeria.

  16. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria

Morocco coach Jorge Vilda has been an animated presence in his technical area, and Nigeria coach Justin Madugu has just offered forthright-looking instructions to his players on the sideline.

Madugu's side try to go route one, the ball dropping through to Khadija Errmichi in Morocco's goal.

  17. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria

More good work from Sanaa Mssoudy, who showed her speed of feet and thought for that second Morocco goal.

After Nigeria give away possession just outside their penalty area on the right, Mssoudy tricks her way towards the byline inside the box but can't keep the ball in play.

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria

Now Nigeria have a chance to cross from a free-kick almost level with the penalty area on the left.

  20. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Morocco 2-0 Nigeria
